Pretty sure he used lead-free shot, because the drone was merely damaged, not destroyed.

As much as I’d love to know who shot it down in order to send a considerable gift to him, I hope they all remain tight lipped and keep their eyes to the sky (to send lead into any more of these intrusive pests).

Drones are not a game bird, there’s no season or license required.

Shades of Henry Bowman if the drone was shot down by a rifle round.

Need to remember plausible denyability!

Don't shoot at it, just throw something up in the air that will tangle up the propellers and bring it down. No "public endangerment" angle, and much easier to explain. :)

They should do the firing line method: everyone shoot at the same time... “Nope, no idea who shot it down!” we’ll never know which bullet/shot did the trick. :)

As much as I enjoy seeing these libtard nitwit's drone getting shot down, I also really can't condone the activity in question. I once lived on the other side of a small valley from a canned pheasant hunt facility. It was not hunting, it was not sporting. These were not fit wild animals. Pheasants with limited flying ability would be placed in the field, clients would come in with dogs, the pheasants would slowly flush straight up in the air - a can't miss situation and utterly no challenge to skill. The pigeons in question are also captive birds with limited flying ability.

I am all in favor of hunting and hunting rights. Hunters play a vital role in wildlife management and funding of habitat. But this is something else entirely.

I literally LOLed when I heard this. If it was over the club, why is there any investigation? It should have been shot down.

Watching Foxnews on Election night, one of the guests (Tim Hayes??) said something like 1/3 of all NRA members reside in PA. Can not remember the exact number. But it is huge.

Outside of Philly, PA is a huge gun state. The Hamburg Cabelas is actually the largest gun store in the entire world.

Stories like this make me proud to be a Pennsylvanian.

Some animal rights activists have engaged in outright terrorism, not just harassment. They, and also Islamists, can use autonomous GPS-guided helicopter and fixed wing drones to attack their targets in many ways either solo or in integrated swarms.

Please see my tag line for more information, if interested.

I *highly* doubt it was a “rifle shot.” That was from the Animal Rights Whacko press release. As a practical matter, I would stick with a shotgun just because it’s a lot safer than putting a slug in a trajectory that could carry for miles.

Re: Good Shot

I might be wrong, But Wing Pointe doesn’t have pigeon shoots. They are a regulated hunting preserve. They offer hunts for Quail, chukars, pheasants and offer sporting clays. Its a pay to hunt kind of place where you buy the birds and they stock them.

Nobody is ever under any obligation to talk to the police or answer their questions.
They'll lie to you and threaten you but in the end they have nothing if you don't talk.
And watch out for those unbalanced steroid raged cops.

Back about 20 years ago I was shooting skeet with our gun club in South Carolina. A cropduster plane, a small Cessna or Beechcraft or something, flew over us and sprayed an insecticide...smelled like Dursban...I thought he was trying to poison us, and came within an ace of letting him have it with my 12-gauge Browning. Just in the nick of time, the club president remarked that the pilot was trying to control the mosquitoes that were pestering us (and that the pilot was the landowner who leased the land to us!). Thanks goodness I didn’t shoot.
