Stryker Corp.’s plans to lay off about 5 percent of its worldwide staff to cut costs—a move announced by the medical products company last Thursday—have some worried about the spin-off effect it may have in the community.

It seems to be an even bigger concern, however, to some from the political standpoint.

They are squarely blaming the new Medical Device Excise Tax and the Obama administration for the Kalamazoo-based company's decision.

Has anyone asked about the logic of this particular tax? I guess the answer is in the transcripts from the hearings, right? Oh, wait ...

When even companies that gave Obama the nod do this, then maybe Big Ears will see it’s about normal long term planning, not about being “petty.” Let O’Care go away and the hiring will appear again, almost like magic.

In the meantime, the libbie boycott list is going to get so large that they won’t be able to shop much more than Starbucks (oh wait, did Starbucks announce a warning about this too?)

Wait till their utilities start laying people off. I guess the liberals will have to shut of the heat and lights to boycott in the dark.
