America Commits Suicide
cns ^ | November 7, 2012 | Alan Caruba

Why did the majority of voters not understand the fearful implications of the erosion of the nation’s military power, not knowing that peace can only be maintained by a navy that keeps the sea lanes open, the marines who are skilled at making a quick entry into a battle zone, the army that can subdue an enemy, and an air force that has no comparison? The active military and veterans understood what their Commander-in-Chief was doing to them, but the lies about the Benghazi attack that killed a U.S. ambassador and three others were ignored.

Those who voted for Obama were content to believe the cascade of lies Obama told. They ignored the President’s record of failure

...

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship."

John Adams, Founding Father and the nation’s second President warned: "Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide."

First of all, Newt wasn’t elected. Second of all, stop blaming Mitt. Bush and his spineless ass kissing liberal conservatives gave us 8 years of Obama.

So they could toss out the Rep ballots.

I wish we had up votes and down votes here, I would give you a lot of up votes. That’s it exactly, we must have a strong military if we are to maintain peace.

If they think they will be able to cut military spending, then they have not been paying attention to the world.

Japan verses China.
North Korea verses South Korea.
Iran verses Israel.
The US Sunni Coalition verses Syria.
Egyptian Radical Islamic Takeover.
Libyan Radical Islamic Takeover.
Al Qeada verses the US.
Russia verses Georgia.
Iranian Nuclear Weapons.
Syrian Chemical Weapons.
Loose Libyan Weapons.
Argentina verses England.
Argentina verses Spain.
Argentina verses Democracy.
Assassination attempt on Assad.
Turkey verses Syria.
Israel verses Syria.
Attack on US Mission in Libya.
Euro Unrest.
Euro Civil Wars.
US verses Democracy.

Some of these have already gotten hot. Some could get hot. And all could get hot in the next 4 years. And the even better news is our military is being run by a Criminally Insane Regime that may not support US military in harms way.

Dems get California - we take Florida ..

Just the Florida Panhandle. The peninsula of Florida has a lot of dems. We should let it be its own country. Call it New Cuba. Give it a few years, and the Castro brothers will attack it. Assuming any of them are still alive. Then we can help New Cuba take out Old Cuba.

The US House can still vote to impeach Obama just like Clinton was Impeached. The US Senate votes to determine if the impeached President should be removed from office. He can literally be impeached fairly quickly just due to Benghazi, but unfortunately the RINO’s will run cover for him along with the MSM. But we can deal with them. Both are a dieing bred and we owe them nothing now.

Mitt has his place in this farce. Mitt Romney is cut from the same cloth as Bush and the spineless rhinos...or have you never heard of Romneycare. Oh and buy the way I’m well aware Newt wasn't elected...neither was Mitt and the ball was teed up.

Obviously he wont be removed by the Senate, but we can drag both Obama and Hillary out into the open where the light of truth can at least show the American people just who these people are. That could help in the mid-terms.

Regardless, Mitt was not supported by our party and would have made a great President. He got less votes than McCain though so now we will suffer. Disgusting.

Like Rush just said, you can’t win against Santa Claus.

I’m expecting the tide to turn against Obama like it did against Nixon after his 1972 landslide victory. All of the money-printing that kept the economy above water during the election campaign resulted in massive inflation. The facts about Watergate came out and Nixon’s career was over.

Obama’s second term is going to look like that Aflac duck trying to stopper all the leaks in a rowboat.

I certainly hope so. I hope all the blame is laid at the feet of the MSM. The MSM must die for the Republic to live, but I am uncertain if it will die fast enough.

I am curious as to why there were separate ballots for D and R.

No, I wasn't clear. These were sample ballots handed to voters by campaign workers as you approached the polling place. Everyone hung on to them while waiting in line to vote. Assuming you chose the option of using a paper ballot, the real ones were all the same color.

"In order to understand what’s going on, big picture, you have to understand what “cool” really means....It means being at the proper level of rebellion to God, parents & tradition. Too much rebellion makes you a dangerous radical, but “just the right amount” of rebellion makes you “cool”."

I would agree, but still, that's defining what I meant by "cool" a bit too narrowly. What I saw was that having a yellow democratic sample ballot, and, in fact advertising oneself as a Democrat, was a conceit adopted in the same manner as a fashion accessory. "Here, look at me, I have an iPhone, and I like Obama. See, I'm cool. I'm in the mix.", was the statement being made by young people, Hispanic mothers, older idiots, and a variety of others standing in line with me. It went far beyond the natural rebellion of youth. Being "cool" in this sense was like when we were kids: we all had to wear the same brand of jeans, and have London Fog jackets. And, very sadly, that was about as much thought as went into their choice of who should be our leader.

Are you kidding...they threw Newt and Rick Santorum under the bus to get him. He had all the help he needed to win....he just decided to spend the last three weeks coasting across the finish line!!!

Please consider south Florida. We need conservatives to move there in droves! We need votes for our side!

You’d be welcome here in NW Florida too. It is a nice place to live.

But half of the southern tip is the everglades, right ? Starts about 100 miles south of Orlando ?

Just joking. At any rate, areas that have a high density of Dems obviously will have problems assimilating into a conservative states. Although their used to be conservative Democrats way back in the day. Current Democrats just do things like, oh, um, kill Osama Bin Laden, Fire hundreds of Drone Missiles into civilian targets, covertly supply military grade weapons to terrorist fighting in Syria, maintain kill lists that they control, and on and on. Definitely mot anything nearly remote to what a True Conservative would ever do.
