MSNBC: Nobody Needs Your Hurricane Donations Mitt Romney
Townhall ^ | 10/31/2012 | Katie Pavlich

Posted on 10/31/2012 8:35:32 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Yesterday Mitt Romney turned a previously scheduled campaign event in Ohio into a hurricane relief event. Romney asked supporters to bring canned goods and other supplies to help storm victims recover on the East Coast. He only spoke for ten minutes at the event and quickly jumped in to help load supplies. His campaign bus has been accepting hurricane relief donations since Monday in Northern Virginia. Sounds like a great idea right? Not according to MSNBC.

Reporters and anchors at the far-left TV outlet were appalled at Romney's efforts to give back to the community, after all, his charity and generosity doesn't fit with their "Romney is an evil rich guy who doesn't care about regular people" narrative.

Are these people sick? And yes you heard them correctly, they are actually criticizing Romney for trying to help people.

With all due respect to the Red Cross, they do amazing work, but they are also a large bureaucracy set up like the federal government. Andrea Mitchell made the point in the first video that Romney was collecting things "the Red Cross doesn't need" and that the Red Cross wants blood and money (which by the way, people like Mitt Romney are capable of donating large sums of money to organizations like the Red Cross because they are personally wealthy, something MSNBC has continually demonized).

Look up the difinition of “troll”. Someone with whom you disagree does not a troll make. You are tiresome. You do know JR’s rule against personal insults, don’t you? Do you insult everyone with whom you disagree? Intelligent people oft times consult people with whom they do not agree. It can be enlightening. There is a reason really smart people do not surround themselves with yes people. It does not bother me when people do not agree with me. Funny. You seem to lose all sensibilities when you disagree with someone. That does not speak well of you. I oft times do not agree with my best friend. She and I have never had words. We simply disagree. And? We certainly do not insult each other. Or..sink to the lowest child like bastardizing one’s name. Our Mother’s would have made us wear a dunce cap had we done that. And no one forgets one can search past comments. And? So?

I actually think MSNBC may be right, but for the wrong reasons. I think they are right because Romeny can’t afford to play the role of life saver and concerned citizen at this point. Every available second should be spent campaigning and right now Romeny is simply not doing that. It IS a cause for great concern in a state as critical as OH and where Romney does not exactly have a commanding lead.

Helping? Red Cross said they do not need the canned goods.

The American Red Cross President and CEO Marsha J. Evans' salary for 2011 was $951,957plus expenses.

True, the Red Cross doesn't need canned goods...BUT people will.

When has Obama ever helped anybody that he didn't think would help himself more?

The Red Cross needs money to pay their salaries and benefits.

Salvation Army helps people, not themselves.

Doing alright. Spend yesterday helping my sister chop up two very big trees that fell in the yard (roots and all). As you know I am a school teacher, we still have not gone back to school, because a lot of the homes do not have electricity, or their homes are flooded.

I still can't believe I didn't lose my electricity.

One sister in Ocean City,NJ still has not been able to get bak on the island to check out her house because of downed wires, gas leaks, and flooding.

Good heavens...you were chopping trees, mware?? I am impressed. Some of those downed trees are huge. I do remember you are a teacher. It does not look as though schools will open this week, do you think? I feel so badly for those whose homes are on the island. What they must be going through. Stay well.

Catholic Charities and Lutheran Family Services are two charitable organizations that consistently rank at or near the top where donation % ‘flow through’ to served constituents is highest.

Bureaucrats are one trick ponies, all they know how to do is build bureaucracies. Helping the humnan person isn’t part of the playbook, much less the core competency.

My tagline sums up my observations on the matter.

You got that right. They didn’t have to do what they did. My oldest was a toddler then and my youngest wasn’t even born, but I’ve tried to emulate and pass down to my sons the very same spirit.

I do have to say...do Not suggest anti or pro zimmerman falls alongside conservative/liberal lines. I know way too many conservatives who are anti zimmerman...and liberals who are pro zimmerman. Those who fall into the anti zimmerman category are LEO’s and Republican politicans who are very conservative. This is Not a conservative/liberal case. Period.

Few things, as a Father, are as important as leading by example. This is one of those “character defining moments” your children will remember you for. And they will pass that to their children in time.

The Red Cross needs money to pay their salaries and benefits. Salvation Army helps people, not themselves.

I would add United Way into the Bad Charity group. Do not forget, I was a stone cold crackhead once, and I needed help.

Red Cross wasn't even on the radar. United Way only directed me to groups that could help.

Salvation Army, on the other hand, gave me groceries. Stuck me in a short term recovery house. Introduced me to long term recovery houses. Gave me support of every manner, so long as I followed their simple rules.

SA is the BEST.

Speaking of MSNBC? I for one surf ALL the dials to know what`s going on, what the libs are saying

S.E Cup on MSNBC The Cycle...I guess they are paying her a lot of money to be the token conservative on the show.

Today they each (4 of them) showed their electoral maps, they all 4 have Obama winning election, The 3 libs have Obama winning comfortably, S E Cup has it closer, but still losing

Watched her a few days on occasion, She is phonying it up, sold out for money to be on show, not just saying that because of her saying Romney CANT win, but other things she has said as well/

S E Cup...they can have her

Absolutely right,,,Elizabeth Dole made big bucks when she was head of it, something like 300 grand, not against Elizabeth Dole, just that the Christian charities, Salvation Army, World Vision, Samaritans purse etc do not pay big wages.

The Christian charities (the real Christian charities) do far more and with less money

Same deal with United Nations UNICEF, or really any of the Non Christian Charities

I only give to World Vision, Samaritans purse and Salvation Army

Would not give a dime to others if I could help it
