Where does the BMX bike thrown in the lake part come from?

I have no evidence, but when reading about this last week, neighbors said perps had history of stealing bikes. Perhaps a previously stripped bike that was disposed of in lake.

Re: Bike in lake? - or - Bike in perps’ house?

Very important point, Naps.

I'm the guy who posted this, and I did notice the contradiction.

“The Conservative Tree House” is the source for the “lake” story, but no other media confirm it.

“Tree House” is probably the best source in the country for the Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case, so I trusted “Tree House” based on past performance.

I may have made a bad mistake.

However, the tone of news reports filed in the last 36 hours seems to have completely changed.

References to the bike being found at the perps’ house have completely disappeared.

Plus, references to the mother “turning in” her kids have also disappeared.

I found one social media reference that claims local residents are posting that the mother's initial contact with Police was to “inquire about the reward.”

I'm an old guy who doesn't do Twitter or Facebook, so I can't verify that.

Anyway, your point is well taken, and I may have made a BIG goof posting this story.

Re: Bike wheeled out of perps’ house

Bunny - I posted this story, and yes, I should have waited for confirmation.

There is actually a link for the “bike in lake” claim, but it goes to a generic news headline page.

“The Conservative Tree House” is the source blog, and they have done superb work on the Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case.

I trusted them - possibly a bad mistake.

However...

Current news stories on the “bike murder” have excised all references to the mother turning her kids in and to the bike being found in the house.

And, I don't do social media, but one source on Google claims that local residents are posting that the mother called the “Reward Tip Line” before contacting Police.

Still, bottom line - I should have confirmed this story before posting.

No worries. None of us are denying the uptick of Black on White crimes. What is even more criminal is the under-reporting of Black on Asian nationals.

Anyway, the younger perp in this case is your typical juvenile delinquents that had a history of stealing bikes (minor crimes, probably mostly on Blacks - my guess, it is not reported), progressing to more serious crimes.

This crime may or may not be pre-meditated; it’s up to the court to decide. However I don’t know how we are going to determine what is or is not a true “Hate Crime”.
