Political guru Dick Morris predicted Saturday that the White House will announce an "October surprise" — a deal with Iran over nuclear inspections before the Nov. 6 election.
Citing an Internet report on WorldNetDaily, a conservative website, Mr. Morris said a deal between the White House and the Iranian regime is in the works to ease sanctions on Iran in return for concessions on the Iranian nuclear program.
Such an agreement, announced before the election, would represent a big foreign policy victory for the president, who has been under pressure from Israel to take a more robust stand against Iran's nuclear ambitions.
The Iranians, Mr. Morris said, may prefer another four years of Mr. Obama to the possibility of a Mitt Romney presidency.
"I think they feel that Romney would assist Israel in attacking them," Mr. Morris said.
"The Iranians have a real history of intervening in U.S. elections," Mr. Morris said in an appearance Saturday on Fox News. "Bear in mind that in 1980, they did not release the hostages until after the election because they wanted to defeat [President Carter]."
Mr. Morris, a political commentator and author, worked as a pollster and campaign adviser to former President Bill Clinton in the 1990s.

Making concessions to the Iranians won’t be a foreign policy victory.
Everybody is going to know it’s a phoney deal.

I think it is a bit late to try and cash in on such a ploy.

I am afraid he is right as Obama will stop at nothing to remain in power.... however I’m hoping it is another of Dick’s Hillary vs Condi moments.
The chance of this changing any votes is Zero. Not a game changer.
Romney ought to pre-empt this non-sense by calling out at the debate on Monday that “concessions with Iran without complete verification inspection is ‘Surrender” to a nuclear Iran”.

One thing they have underestimated is the popular interest in Iran. Obama has spent the last several years declaring that a fundamentalist Islamist government is no problemo and that in fact a bloody Islamist war in the streets is no problem.
So people really aren’t going to care what kind of a “deal” he strikes with Ahmadinejad and this will have no effect on the elections. In any case, everybody knows that anything that comes out of the White House is a lie.
They’ve overplayed their hand.
Reminds me of the “Peace in out times” proclamation made by British Prime Ministe Neville Chamberlin ... a deal with Adolf Hitler where Hitler sagreed to not ... after Poland ... take over any more European countries.
If this is their big secret plan, we have nothing to worry about.
A deal with Iran, cause it worked so well with North Korea.
