With fewer than three weeks until Election Day, new NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist polls show President Barack Obama maintaining his lead over Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in the battleground states of Iowa and Wisconsin.

According to the polls – which were conducted from Monday through Wednesday, encompassing Tuesday’s presidential debate in New York and after – Obama receives the support of 51 percent of likely voters in Iowa to Romney’s 43 percent.

And in Wisconsin, Obama is ahead by six points among likely voters, 51 percent to 45 percent, which also is virtually unchanged from last month.

"The Iowa poll shows Democrats with a two-point party-identification advantage over Republicans; the 2008 exit poll had Democrats with a one-point edge. And the Wisconsin survey finds Democrats with a five-point advantage; in 2008, it was a Democratic six-point edge."

I was looking for the internals but it looks like these jackwads are predicting record turnout for Dems in Iowa and a 2008 model in Wisconsin. Bullshoy!

Wouldn’t it be an absolute nightmare if we saw something along the lines of 2000; Romney wins the popular vote but Obama manages to fink his way to 270 EV’s?

BTW, I’m not expecting that to happen. I think Romney’s chances for winning are very good right now, including in Iowa and Wisconsin. It’s just one of those many “what if?” things in the back of my head right now.

Man, election day can’t come soon enough for me!

Sure - its BS.

A 5 point Democratic advantage? Marist oversampled Ds to give Obama a lead.

I don’t believe that’s true in WI and it certainly isn’t true in IA.

Marist is making a bid to exceed PPP as the absolute most ridiculous polling outfit in the business.

It's almost like when the news is uniformly bad, the Dems put in a desperate call to Marist and PPP: "Help! What can you give us? Give us anything. Iowa? Wisconsin? Make up any numbers we need to but we have to stop the Mittmentum."

” Obama receives the support of 51 percent of likely voters in Iowa to Romney’s 43 percent. “

I say bullclinton on that....

Many more Romney signs here in Iowa. The Obama supporters know the gig is over. They know we need an adult in charge now.
My co worker is an Obama supporter; but would be ok with Romney winning to fix the economy.

“record turnout for Dems in Iowa “

The truth is many will stay home this time.

They are basically using a 2008 model turnout which is laughable.

Romney will win in a landslide...but the fiscal Armageddon will still occur. Then we’ll get to argue about who was responsible until the grid goes down. Then we can focus on what’s really important.

Just saw this tweet a few minutes ago...

"Our Iowa poll tomorrow is going to be a whole lot better for Romney than the NBC one tonight "

This was tweeted by Public Policy Polling

Also, it seems the NBC poll is becoming more and more of an outlier. Time will tell. They are the only one with good news for the Obama campaign. LOL

The poll internals do not say anywhere what the party breakdown of people interviewed was. That tells me all I need to know.

My gosh, the lame-stream STILL can’t help themselves. Yeah right — I’m just going to accept these numbers on face value and it’s obviously over for Romney so I’ll just stay at home on election day. DREAM ON

A very accurate poll was just done by Marquette University. That poll had Romney ahead by one point. This same group very accurately predicted the Scott Walker recall race. General Electric, er, MSNBC, er, NBC, poll is sheer disinformation.

This corrupt MSM outfit is working with the DNC. What’s that Who song? “We won’t Be Fooled Again!”

Buh, bye, Obama.

See my post in the other thread. With Iowa they use a 2008 registration model and even give Dems an extra point here. Laughable to think they have Obama up 11 with Independents!

Democrat registration since 2008 is down 52,000 and Republicans are almost even with total registrations as of October 1st.
