Thieves Targeting Closed Detroit Fire Stations

Shuttered Detroit firehouses have become the latest targets for scrap metal thieves.

At least a half-dozen fire stations across the city from Southwest Detroit to the near east side, including engine and ladder companies 33, 46 and 49, are now closed.

Executive Fire Commissioner Don Austin told WWJ Newsradio 950 thieves are breaking into the closed buildings and stripping them of what can be sold for scrap.

That’s where the water heaters, the plumbing, electrical oftentimes is taken out of the building,” Austin said.

...

Fire Department officials said they want to keep as much of the buildings intact, so they can resell them. They also want to help keep the property values up in the neighborhoods where the fire stations are located.

Wait to the end of the month. I hear that they have a tendency to burn as many buildings as possible around Halloween.

My immediate reflex is to wonder how many of the firemen are involved. It certainly wouldn't be the first time police and firemen were involved in the very problem they claim they're trying to prevent.

Liberal governance in action:

Step 1 — tax the s___t out of the productive people until they flee the city.

Step 2 — make the business climate so hostile that no new businesses want to move in.

Step 3 — start neglecting services when tax revenue start drying up to the point where parts of the city are literally uninhabitable.

Step 4 — give up and withdraw services from large parts of the city and let the mob take over.

You end up with a ghost town where the only inhabitants are criminals.

Time, my FRiend, time. And it is not on the side of those Libtard ridden cities, either. Nor is it on the side of the ‘creative accountants’ on the staffs of those Big Sh*tties.
