Because everyone had such a great time at the last shoot we are anxious for the next one.
The date for the 8th Annual TCMS shoot will be June 8th, 2013 and will be held at Dietz Gun Shop and Shooting Range, in New Braunfels, TX. Providing we get the OK from Mr. Dietz – I will call him this week to discuss our coming to the range.
Staying in the Pelican Bay cottages this year was a stroke of genius, so we will again be staying in cottages. The cottage pick for this shoot is the Cypress Creek Cottages, in Wimberley, TX. There are only twelve cottages at this place, and as of this writing 7 of them have been reserved. NOTE: They require full payment at the time the reservations are made. Wimberley also has some very nice hotels in the area in the event all the cottages get rented.
Making it a three & a half day weekend will be the plans for many of us, that way we can enjoy the area and have lots of porch time.
The Friday night dinner & Saturday breakfast places have not yet been decided. There is still plenty of time to figure out those details. Saturday after the shoot lunch will be provided by our own chef ~ cpdiii (Thanks Charlie!). Suggestions for the Saturday night meal are more than welcome.

FYI, after drinking one of my Margaritas...you don’t wanna go anywhere else! After a few, just to bed.

Yes, I nagged my husband for two years, and he finally gave in last year. After experiencing the Houston Area Texans, he will attend every shoot, God willing, and the job doesn’t interfere.
I confess to not wanting to leave last time. There were so many nice FReepers there that we felt right at home. Meeting people in real life who are so totally sweet, nice, and Conservative gave me the most joy that I’ve had since my last TEA party and the time Mr. Newt came to our town to campaign and fund raise for Bill Johnson, Ohio’s 6th District representative.
That is wonderful to hear. I really miss socializing with freepers both online and in person. My husband and I have only been together for a few years and he is quite conservative, my dad refers to him as “to the right of Atilla,” but he isn’t interested in FR online. He has met a few of my FRiends and enjoyed the company so I know he would enjoy the group. My biggest selling point is that I can guarantee there won’t be any flaming liberals to tick him off. :)
I have got a call in to the cottages now to see about pricing for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. I am supposed to give thehusband a financial estimate and I expect we will be all in after that. I am already getting really excited about attending. The last 2 years have been spent caring for sick/recovering family and friends and recovering from an accident I had while caring for one of them. I really NEED to get out and do something I will enjoy!

We reserved Cottage 5 so there are now 2 cottages available, numbers 2 and 3.

Bryan walked in and handed me the bayonet first. Puzzled, I asked what it was for, and he reached behind him and handed me the Mosin, LOL! I could not have been more delighted. It is beautiful.

As far cooking goes, we are keeping it simple this year. BuckeyeTexan & I were thinking hamburgers and hot dogs for Friday night ; appetizers on Saturday night.
I’m not cooking this year ~ it’ll give me time to visit. If you are in the mood to cook, nobody will stop you. ;-)
I am so jealous. I tried to buy one at Cabela’s on Friday, but they sold out in 15 minutes. A local gun shop is supposed to get some in next week. I’m hoping to get one then. (Fingers crossed.)
