PLEASE - Consider being a poll watcher or poll worker. The time is NOW.

Something we fear, and often see discussed and lamented, is election fraud. We here at Free Republic, as a community of concerned individuals, are in a position to counter at least some of the Democrat party sponsored and encouraged voter fraud.

We as conservatives complain about voter fraud, but how many of us actually do something other than complain about it?

I'm asking all of you to seriously consider contacting your local Republican party office and volunteering your services as a poll watcher or poll worker for the upcoming election.

We only get one vote (at least for those of us who are honorable), but poll watchers and workers can prevent the votes of the honest multitude from being negated by the dishonest few. They are also in a position to ensure all legitimate votes are counted and reported.

Here in my home state of Alabama, all it takes is for the Republican Party to put your name on a list of watchers. This list is then submitted to the voter registrar, and you are assigned a polling place to observe.

The Republican party provides training where you are trained in how to detect and properly report irregular voting practices, as well as how to behave yourself in the polling place.

The investment in time is relatively small - a few hours of training (usually one evening) and a full day spent working at the polling place.

You will probably be requested to show up and inspect the voting machines before the polls open in order to prevent ballot box stuffing prior to voting. You may be requested to stick around and watch as the votes are tallied. You may be requested to observe as the tallied votes are transferred from one individual to another.

The rewards, both personal and to our country, are great. I don't regret a minute of my time spent over the years doing this work.

Many of us cannot contribute as much money to our candidates as we would like, but this is a case where volunteer work may be even more important than financial contributions.

I will be glad to answer any questions, but keep in mind things may be different here in Alabama compared in your state. This is why you need to contact your local party officials.

Please note... If you live in a district where the local election officials are Democrats, they may be no opposition to all sorts of polling place tricks. As a poll watcher, you may be the only Republican or Independent working at the site. I cannot overstate the importance of this work. In some districts, particularly in swing states and districts, IT IS VITAL.

Please consider volunteering for this important job. And do it quickly because time is running out and your name must be submitted by local party officials weeks ahead of the election.

Please note. I have posted this in past years with minor changes, and will probably post it again in a week or so.

I am not in the habit of posting vanity stuff, but this is something I strongly believe in and take very seriously, so feel compelled.

Also - I ask that people bump and ping to keep in the spotlight. This is something we at Free Republic can do to really make a difference.

Thanks, Wayne

I’m worried about Barney Frank doing this in Massachusetts.

Just don't drop your ballot!

I have saved this info for the future when I may be free to do this, Wayne, and I thank you for your efforts. I am glad you posted this, and hope you continue to do so.

I have already volunteered for the worst poll location in S/W Houston.. It has an 80% AA population.. I did it in 2008, and 2010, so they already know me and have grown to expect me to call their BS at every opportunity..

I think there was near 100 ballots in 2008.. Even more in 2010, but they learned a lesson the first time so they didn’t even argue that much..

They shout and scream as I file objections, but those votes never get counted at the end, because I stay until I get a finding..

They called the police against me three times in 08, but not in 2010, but I stood my ground, and the cops took one of them away.. I have never raised my voice I just smile and fill out the forms to substantiate my objection on solid grounds.. :)

Thanks Wayne.

I’m glad you never found any wrongdoing, but I admit that part of me wishes you had. The MSM claims that voter fraud is a red herring, and that it never really occurs, but we all know the truth...even if we haven’t caught it red handed ourselves.

Keep doing what you do!

Awesome stuff, Carlo.

Can you give us some details on how you recognize fraud, what you did to disqualify the ballots, and any other information that could be helpful?

I’d be happy to go work a polling place, but honestly, I’m not real sure how to recognize that someone is trying some Chicago style voting.

Kudos to you. You may have contested 100 ballots in 2008 and even more in 2010, but I suspect your mere presence and your persistence prevented even more fraudulent attempts to vote. Plus some likely “official” misconduct.

Great job!

This is why I stress you contact, volunteer, and work with your local Republican party officials.

This accomplishes several important things...

1) It makes you AN OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE REPUBLICAN PARTY AT THE POLLING PLACE. They cannot run you off or put you in a place where you cannot see what's going on, and the local law officers know you are not just a troublemaker. You will have an ID card provided to you.

2) From the training (typically 3-4 hours) you learn how to behave, you learn what is legal and illegal (legal for you, for the voters, as well as the voting officials), and you learn exactly what to do and who to contact in the event of irregularity.

So it would make sense you vote absentee ballot if you volunteer?

Yes. If you work the polls, either as a worker or volunteer watcher, you need to vote absentee or vote early. Chances are you will not be working the same precinct in which you are registered.

You may vote in a "safe" precinct and the local Republican party officials may decide they need you in a different, "at-risk" precinct.

I am so sorry I didn't see your response earlier or I would have answered sooner..

I wish I could tell you it was my superior knowledge of election laws, although I have read most of them several times.. Catching these morons was relatively simple..

They walk in without any kind of identification, or can't give a complete address without looking at the list.. I challenge them to give the address with a corresponding zip code..

When I get the Dem judge accusing me of bias, I ask for the voters cell phone number, saying I wanted to verify the address of the billing..

I haven't the slightest idea how to do that, but they don't know that sooooooo they usually just walk out at that time.. Boy that really pi$$es them off.. HA!

Oh, before I forget, I started a big fight when I asked one of these jerks that I really had it with, how long have they lived at the address that matches that corresponds with the name they can't even spell..

This starts the war, followed by the cheating because they show they the fraud the address.. I call them on it but I get overruled because the judge looks the other way..

They always say that they have lived there for years, then I ask what their neighbor's name is so I can check to see what their address is..

They exploded when the idiot woman just ran out.. LOLOL

When I was at the polls this June, there was this guy who wanted to vote with only his SS card as ID. They let him in.
