Will Debbie Be Dumped?
Weekly Standard ^ | SEP 5, 2012 | DANIEL HALPER

Are there no consequences for lying? Even on national television?

Earlier today, Philip Klein reported that DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said this: “We know, and I’ve heard no less than Ambassador Michael Oren say this, that what the Republicans are doing is dangerous for Israel.”

Michael Oren, Israel's ambassador to America, released a statement saying that Wasserman Schultz was wrong. “I categorically deny that I ever characterized Republican policies as harmful to Israel. Bipartisan support is a paramount national interest for Israel, and we have great friends on both sides of the aisle,” said Oren in a statement.

So in a TV appearance this evening, Wasserman Schultz was asked about these events. But instead of acknowledging her misstatement, the DNC chair attacked the reporter who quoted her.

“I didn’t say he said that,” Wasserman Schultz said. “And unfortunately, that comment was reported by a conservative newspaper. It’s not surprising they would deliberately misquote me. What I always say is that unfortunately the Republicans have made Israel a political football, which is dangerous for Israel. And Ambassador Oren has said that we can’t ever suggest that there is any daylight between the two parties on Israel because there isn’t. And that that’s harmful to Israel. That’s what I said, and that is accurate.”

But in fact, Klein has proof that Wasserman Schultz did say what Klein reported.

I dunno...

From what I can discern, telling boldfaced lies in public is considered to be a “career enhancer” for a Democrat.

More and more, the RAT convention is looking like the bar scene from Star Wars.

I certainly hope they dump her. She would be a powerful replacement for Biden. Few others are so outspoken, articulate and passionate about the democrat platform.

Well, when they kick her to the curb she'll have a HUGE place to land...

So Wasserman Schultz was caught in a lie, then tried to wheedle her way out of it by telling another lie. This is the DNC chair who did it, the chief executive, so to so speak, of the Democrat National Convention being currently staged in Charlotte. So it's more than Wasserman Schultz herself that's being tarnished by her lies, it's the entire convention event and the Democrat Party as well!

Fortunately, she is being exposed on some media outlets. Just about an hour ago, Shepard Smith on Fox News (whose politics seems to tilt toward the left), the man to whom Wasserman Schultz lied yesterday by claiming that she never made the remark attributed to her concerning the Israeli ambassador, reviewed the chronology of the incident and played an audio of Wasserman Schultz's talk to her fellow 'Rats in which she said exactly what she claimed she didn't say. Nice to see that her lies were exposed for all to see and (hopefully) understand.

And Smith isn't the only media personality to publicly display Wasserman Schultz's lies for what they are.

Are some in the American media finally making some amends for decades of failure to hold prominent Democrat politicians accountable for their violations the public trust?

Anybody who's seen Wasserman-Test's south side when she faces north would never call her "little."

True that.

OTOH, she seems to appreciate that Obama can be a big man where it counts...

Right. Just like when Greta Van Susteren cornered her into saying that she was confident that Harry Reid would pass a budget in the Senate, she tried to back-pedal by saying that she was just a Congresswoman in the House and she doesn't speak for the Senate.

Never mind tha she was speaking as the Chairwoman of the DNC at the time.

Will Debbie be dumped? Yes, the chances for that are excellent. But it won't be for her outrageous lack of candor. Democrats in general don't place much value on honesty.

Rather, it will be for their bad losses in the election this year: the presidency and both chambers of Congress. That's the usual cause of the changing of the guard for either party's national committee chairmanship.

Worse than a liar is an inept liar. Debbie was an obvious moron from the getgo.

“Are some in the American media finally making some amends for decades of failure to hold prominent Democrat politicians accountable for their violations the public trust?”

Hell, no. They just are aware that there are other media outlets that WILL publicize it, so they don’t want to not only get scooped, but have their credibility once more ripped by the likes of Rush, Drudge, Sean Hannity, Doc Savage, and we residents of Freep-ia. They can no longer squash stories.

I must say one thing about DWS. The past two times I’ve seen her on TV (last night and over the weekend), she looks as though they are trying hard to rehabilitate her image. Her hair was not slicked down on her scalp, and the makeup was a tad better. They should have done that long ago. But there is nothing they can do about the “nails on a blackboard” voice.

Buh-bye. :’)

Thanks justiceseeker93.

The time and place to dump her is the next election at the ballot box.
