CHARLOTTE, N.C. A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention. Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade. Democrats' choice of Charlotte has drawn criticism from unions who don't like North Carolina's labor laws, and the state seems to be tilting away from Democrats politically.

Mount Obama sounds like fag work to me
OH NO how terrible..just like Obama the sand has no spine
Didn’t they have sense enough to look at the 7-day forecast to see whether any rain was likely?
Obviously it was built by Obama’s Govt, thats why it collapsed so quickly
They probably did but figured the guy who could lower the seas could part the clouds too.
Racist rain
Oh the humanity!
All he is is dust in the wind, man.
God at work? ;-)
Feet of Sand: The Barack Obama Story
Yep. Ruh-Roh is right. A bad omen; and STOOPID! What we supposed to do, ADORE and REVERE it? - In which case, they better shake a leg.
Your stimulus dollars at work.
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!’
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away”.
That was a rhetorical question, right ?
