On a somewhat related note, a young black lifeguard at the local pool here was wearing a hoodie (hood up, of course) in the current 80-degree, cloudless weather. WTF? These clowns want to be taken seriously?
Sometimes a little fear is a good thing. Don’t dress like a criminal with baggy pants! Don’t be all attude and strutting your stuff. I wouldn’t do this in a black or latino neighborhood—they shouldn’t do it out of their comfort zone. We have too many young men lost to the Gangsta Culture and Rap music and Dope. When one goes bad—we all lose. Maybe Trayvon might have turned to education and found a cure for cancer? Maybe he could have become a hero on some far away battlefield or preached the gospel saving young lives—but it was not to be—he was offered few choices by his culture—and he took some bad ones.
