He can’t tap that money until he is formally nominated.

It is beginning to look like Mr. Romney has the best knife in the gun fight.

Relax.

The Olympics are on.

The VP hasn’t even been named.

There are limitations on how much he can spend prior to becoming the official nominee. After the convention, look for a huge media surge.

I was under the impression that Romney couldn’t spend his money until he’s officially named the candidate, that money raised for the election can’t be spent while he’s still only the presumptuous candidate.

Of course, I don’t normally do impressions...!

He is prohibited under campaign law from spending the money he has raised since the primary until after the Convention at the end of this month.

Here in PA oblamo is running 4 ads to every Romney ad.

PA could be in play, but that window will close quickly if Mitt can't/doesn't defend himself.

Romney fought plenty dirty during the primary, which is one of the reasons many conservatives don’t like him very much. He has shown that he has a sharp group of campaign advisers who respond quickly to attacks. And he has invested a large fortune of his own money getting this far. He is out raising large sums of money, and my guess is that he’s counting on the fact that most people are not paying a lick of attention to the presidential race right now.

Romney and the super PACs are going to roll into the conventions with large sums of money in the bank, with an Obama team that has shot every arrow in their quiver and most of their money. I think he’s keeping the powder dry until the conventions, and then it’s going to be Romney ads all day and night until November.

It’s still early. The news cycle is preoccupied with the Olympics. Romney has a lot more money and is likely holding his powder for an all out blitz in a month or so. IMO he won’t fail like McCain because he is nothing like McCain. The McCain Palin ticket was never ever intended to win, just a half rotten bone for us dogs to chew on while the rock star ascended to his rightful place on the White House thrown.

Now that the novelty of the Obomination has worn off what does the incumbent really have?

Besides the money issue, historically people don’t start paying attention until after Labor Day.

I’d also like to see Romney hit back harder, but he is hitting back. I’m actually pleasantly surprised at some of the campaign commercials I’ve seen lately. In comparison, some of Obama’s have been downright creepy.

But as has been mentioned above, most people aren’t really paying attention yet and he’d be wise to hold off until closer to the election when more are engaged and the money will be more wisely spent.

It’s still summer. People are still vacationing, spending time with their kids and enjoying the weather. Once fall comes around, the weather starts to turn, and more people are inside watching TV (plus football season will be in full swing - when a lot of people are watching), hopefully we’ll see the Romney campaign in high gear.

I was kinda hoping he was waiting until after the convention to give it all to the Palin/West ticket. :-)

As an aside, if Romney can not spend his money until after he is nominated, how can the non-nominated Obama spend his?

Because he is winning. watch the two campaigns and especially the desperation from Obama. That tells you where things are.

1. He cannot spend most of that money until after he is nominated and 2. he is keeping his powder dry while Obama shoots himself in the foot constantly.

Right now Obama and his minions are running scared and are throwing as much mud as possible — they are spending almost twice a month what they are bringing in already, meanwhile Romney is accumulating an enormous war chest.

When people actually start paying attention in late September Obama will have shot his wad and basically be broke and out of ammunition — at that point you will see Romney and the Rep pacs put on an all out blitz.

Obama vs. Obama light. What? Me Worry? says Alfred E. Neuman. RINO’s lose every time. It’s Bob Dole’s turn! Hooray! It’s John McLame’s turn! Hooray! Now it’s Mittens Romney’s turn! Hooray! Someone wake me up when the gulags open up!
