Beauty Queen Dragged Out of Bed Naked by Deputies
KTLA ^ | July 27, 2012 | KTLA

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- A former beauty queen is suing the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department after she says deputies kicked down the wrong apartment door, pointed guns at her and her fiancee and watched as she got out of bed, naked.

Calenche Ranae Manos, a former Miss Nevada 2007, says in her lawsuit that the incident happened on the night of November 15, 2011.

Manos and her fiancee, Eric Otto Ryder, say deputies had a search warrant for apartment "C" but entered their unit -- clearly marked as apartment "A."

"At that time Ms. Manos was still in bed and was naked," the complaint, obtained by Courthouse News Service, states.

"The sheriff deputies, all of which were male and armed with guns, ordered Ms. Manos to get out of bed and then watched as she attempted to do so," it alleges.

The officers then spent a "significant amount of time" in the apartment before they realized their mistake, according to the complaint.

One of the officers allegedly joked that Manos would have a good story to tell at Thanksgiving.

Manos is seeking damages for negligence, false imprisonment and civil rights violations.

She is also accusing the deputies of sexual harassment.

Sounds good in theory, but when a homeowner protects his property, he, his house, his dog, and his body will be shot somfull of SWAT bullets that you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart.

Why does commitment make sex right or wrong? How committed is “committed”?

People recognize this too. That's why she no doubt told the reporters covering this story that the guy in her bed was a "fiance" rather than just a boyfriend. (Of course, they then misspelled the word.) But it's true that the terms "fiancee" and "fiance" are now used to mean something like "sex partner to whom I'm so committed that I remember his/her name the next day."

Under these circumstances, they are not immune from tort action. They will be named as co-defendants in the lawsuit.

To be pefectly clear, did you just state that if this happened to homosexuals, illegals, or muslims, we here on FR wouldn’t care?

The word you're groping for is MARRIAGE.

I don't think premarital sex in a committed relationship is bad nor do I think God gives a hoot over it(it's not his main criteria put it that way)

There is a couple in my hometown who have lived together for 30+ years. 4 kids. True soulmates. When you hear of a spouse dying a day after the other spouse this will be them.

The man is a a contractor by profession and has practically rebuilt the local church over the years w/o fanfare nor reward. His "wife" has spent more time volunteering at the church than anyone and is involved in numerous civic activities that help people.

Is God going to punish them for not being married over another "Christian" married couple who while religious and believing in God does not walk the walk? I don't think so.

One night stands/friends with benefits are different and is not what I was referring to.

Got a little nookie from a loving relationship between two people who care for each other before marriage.... I personally don't think God gives a hoot about it but that's me. God is looking how you lead your life, treated others, helped the poor and less fortunate, made an attempt to make the earth a better place....I think he has more important criteria...

How nice of you to weigh in with what you think God thinks?

The Bible clearly disagrees with your humble opinion, but that’s not your problem, right?

Lets look at your nice sweet example of that couple who’ve been shacking up for 30+ years. You don’t think God will punish them? When His Word says otherwise?

What if they were of the same sex? What if it was one man-two wives? You don’t think it’s wrong for two gay people to get “a little nookie from a loving relationship between two people who care for each other before marriage.”?

I think God looks at the total package how we lead our lives on earth and is just, forgiving and REASONABLE enough to know we are not perfect just as we might not like everything 100% about our spouses but look at the total package when we marry them (or not).

BTW premarital sex has been around since the begining of time.

I think you might find this of interest. From "Everyday Life in the 1800s" by Marc McCuctcheon, Chapter 10 Courtship and Marriage, page 205:

"premarital sex: the late 1700s and early 1800s were marked by a notably higher incidence of premarital sex than in later years. Records show, in fact, that around the turn of the century one third of New England brides were already pregnant when they married, despite civil statutes against fornication

Anger.

Thanks, I get it. As you see Past your eyes received a great deal of anger and was personally attacked over his comments in #4.

Why? All he did was post a pro-Christian veiwpoint? And the last time I looked, JR hisself was making it clear this was a pro-God website. But there are many FReepers who feel otherwise. Many will take a comment like #4 and get angry and insulting over it.

Why? Why the anger?

“Demanding accountability from government workers is a 60s thing? “

Nope, but wanting to “destroy their lives” is a bit over the top for this incident.
