Who do they think THEY are to break into her apartment?
He would find their willingness to break into another person’s residence equally wicked.
Sexual sins are no worse than sins of pride, hypocrisy or powerlust.
Why aren’t you asking why *they* feared Christ so little that they burst into the residence?
“I’m sure it is. Some intelligent junior officer who had Goggled her address was probably saying, “I know the warrant says ‘C’ but trust me, we want ‘A’. You’ll see.” “
Sadly, It wouldn’t surprise me if this was the truth.
“Its not that they cant read, its just that they dont care. If they cared even the least bit about not kicking in the wrong door, then they would take the bare minimum step of double-checking the address, which they never seem to do. So, I can only conclude that it doesnt bother most police officers at all when they make these mistakes, probably because there are absolutely no consequences for them when they do.”
This.
There were bound to be many, many astute and intellectual passionate responses on the botched raid. Captain Obvious told me that was the real big story here.
I chose to focus on a different aspect of the story which I found to be quite interesting all on its own, and to use the story to illustrate another point. It’s funny how many of the ~200 responses assumed I had missed the main point of the story. I think the whole thing has been sufficiently hashed over and positions established at this point, don’t you?
“Not in Indiana and Texas! In those liberty-loving states its legal to shoot law enforcement to protect yourself from illegal and unwarranted entry. And when the cops use a warrant on the wrong property both states define that action as illegal and unwarranted.”
Time for the other 48 states to follow suit.
Call it “Another Isolated Incident”
We need to get the Freepers in media notified about that so they can pitch it.
“today if a woman has been banged by fewer than 10 different guys by the time she gets married, shes for all intents and purposes a virgin;)”
As one of my very jealous friends was told by another friend “one can’t hurt it and two can’t get on it. So don’t worry about it.”
That aspect is between her and Christ; gossiping about it is a sin. Feeling prideful that she has sinned in that area is a sin.
Fornication does not justify their entry. Each and every one of those men who gazed on her committed adultery in their hearts.
THAT is something Christ specifically forbade. Why have you been silent on *that* score?
The four of you seem to be arguing about Ms. Manos having sex before she is married.
JUST WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?
Her FIANCE was not in the hotel room with her. He was only mentioned as being with her when she SPOKE to REPORTERS.
From the article:
“A former beauty queen is suing the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after she says deputies kicked down the wrong apartment door, pointed guns at her and her fiancee and watched as she got out of bed, naked. “
I was responding to someone’s statement that there was nothing wrong with pre-marital sex between 2 “committed” people - asking him to clarify what constitutes “committed” and why commitment makes a difference as to the morality of sex.
And then I responded to somebody implying that those who believe that sex should be reserved for marriage are self-righteous Taliban-like prigs who can’t be real conservatives. I pointed out that the break-up of the family is the prerequisite for communism - and one which communists deliberately set about accomplishing, partly through the process of deMORALization (creating a society void of moral values).
My initial comment on the thread was that the cops were wrong but she could have covered up with the sheet. I’ll add here that I believe she has a valid case and I hope she wins it. I also hope that both she and the guy she was with learn to believe in real love that lasts a lifetime and have unconditional love which doesn’t require a “test run” to see if it’s strong enough.

What is this hotel room you speak of?
Well... guess that proves that you ‘see’ what you want to see. My brain left the ‘fiance’ out of the first sentence. And ‘apartment’ vs. ‘hotel’, I must have used up that one last brain cell last week some time.
It’s just that the whole play of the story was about her, and nothing mentioned about him, other than he was there. Almost as if he just stood there, and the cops didn’t even notice him. (which may have been true).
I apologize. The confusion was all mine.
No problem. I think we’ve all overlooked something at one point or another.
I do wonder if the story would have been different if it was female cops ordering the guy to get out of bed naked.
Sex was around long before marriage was instituted. Therefore, it all was pre-marital.
