I love a good cigar. And my wife does not mind me having one either. A good end munching on cigar that can last for days! and tasty beer to go along with it!
Nanny-state bureaucrats in Mordor getting "alarmed" at free Americans' personal leisure activities is a cause for alarm.
Hey Marty!
If they could only make some that smell exactly like leaves burning on a crisp , autumn day . : )
Texas required a retardant be added to the paper to stop a cigarette burning in case some idiot falls asleep smoking “

We have it in MA too. I often knit in the evening while smoking. Every time I put the lit cig in the ashtray and resume knitting the cigarette goes out. I re-light,take a puff, put it down and resume knitting and it goes out again.
Needless to say my language is not ladylike when it happens.
I assume lighter and match sales have risen quit a bit,so that’s good for someone-—just not me.
.
Does your “alarm” extent to children, teenagers and youth smoking or is it an “alarm” for adults?
Reminds of an old cartoon I saw years ago; a man asks a woman if she likes Kipling, she replies I don’t know, I’ve never Kippled.
Since tobacco came from the new world... I seriously doubt Caesar said that.
Perhaps Sigmund Freud.

You seem to be in the the wrong thread, and possibly logged into the wrong website.
Love that poem. And I do have the occasional cigar myself.
I looked up the Partagas#1. Looks good, I may pick up one and try it out.
If you have a minute google "cardiorespiratory disease" and get back to me.
Both. What young adults of legal age do is their own concern, and what under-age Yutes do is their parents’ concern - not that of Mordor.
When mankind shall be delivered
From the clash of magazines,
And the inkstand shall be shivered
Into countless smithereens:
When there stands a muzzled stripling,
Mute, beside a muzzled bore:
When the Rudyards cease from Kipling
And the Haggards Ride no more.
Rudyard Kipling and H. Rider Haggard were a pain in his butt. Sorta like me for some folks here. ;)
Cooks read a lot of stuff from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th century.

Fascist control freak.
"You must obey ME. You will do MY will, or you will be severely punished."
"I make the rules around here."
But any cigar smoker who moved into any of the condo units that abut mine would be taken to court on a petition by me to order them to stop.
What if they took you to court and demanded you start smoking cigars?
Anyone tried the Camacho triple-maduro? Have one in my humi but haven’t had the guts to light it up yet.
I find the e-cigarette thing especially interesting. When you strip away the smoke-generation part you end up with a drug (nicotine) delivery part...and lose most if not all of the health concerns in the process. I’m not a smoker and don’t like being around it, but I don’t recall anyone ever having said that nicotine itself was harmful. It has effects on behavior and physiology, to be sure, but isn’t it the crap from the smoke that wrecks lungs and increases risk of heart disease and all? If so, then what the hell, outlaw the smoking part and let people satisfy their addiction in a different way, i.e. the e-cig.
But much as I don’t like smoking the libertarian in me says the gummint should “butt out” entirely...although that begs the question of taxing all the above.
LOL
Some folks embrace their inner nazi and others bend it over and ride it like a pony.
Good broadside, but it was blue on blue. Position your IFF power switch from OFF to ON and try again.
