American Jewish gymnast Aly Raisman has helped propel her team to a gold medal at London 2012.
The 18-year-old from Massachusetts, who performed her floor routine to the tune Hava Nagila, appeared last in the US line up in the team competition.
As she left the floor, bringing her team its first win outside of US soil, she appeared to be holding back tears of joy. "It's an amazing feeling to win gold," she told the JC. "The best feeling in the world, and it shows that all the hard work has paid off. "It's a huge honour to be the first Jewish gold medallist of the 2012 Games. "I'm so excited and it definitely gives me a boost of confidence. It's crazy and I cannot believe it."

Anyway, here it is on Youtube, from the crowd. Listen for the Israeli team cheering her on (hard to miss the singing and clapping):

Tremendous. If this was the only footage of the Olympics I saw, it would be enough. Thanks for posting.

Third one down.
Maybe it will make your list!
She’s a heartbreaker, too.
To be 18 and going to the prom with her!
Her leap at the end of her floor routine was breathtaking and graceful! The whole team was incredible!
Magnificent!
The music reminded me of when we used to see “The Best Little Klezmer Band in Texas” at the University of Oklahoma summer concerts.
That’s not the Gold Medal routine. They were wearing red leotards for that one.
Good for her.
I’m proud of her.
Not sure I’d let my daughter practice 7 hours a day at something, though.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Omens. HaShem still abides.
“Tremendous. If this was the only footage of the Olympics I saw, it would be enough.”
I agree. I’m not watching the Olympics—but I’m so glad I saw this. She was incredible & I also think it’s neat that Hava Nagila had the “last” say.
Everybody thinks soccer is the world’s most popular sport, but it’s actually anti-semitism. I chuckled when I heard this music thinking about all the euro-trash squirming in their seats listening to this music while the US Women destroyed the competition.
