Had McCain picked a southern governor of some sort who had faced off the media and had some experience...it might have swung 500k votes over toward McCain. I personally think some insider to the McCain inner circle pushed Palin as someone likely to stumble the campaign. I would also make this comment...had Palin simply gone on being Alaska governor for a full eight years, and eventually challenged Senator Lisa...it would have been a better path in the long run and given her more time to mature. Accepting the VP option...was the wrong choice.

The problem with that is that the Palin pick energized the campaign and the ticket was pushing ahead of Obumbles/Mongoloid until the economy tanked.

You're kidding me.

By that standard, Mitt's not even close to being qualified to run for president. He'd better get his hiney back to Massachusetts and serve another term as Governor, then spend a term in the US Senate before trying his hand at presidential politics again.

It continues to amaze me that some on our side set such a high bar for experience in front of Sarah Palin, and NO other politician. Let me remind you that Sarah Palin had twenty years of experience in public service when she ran for VP. Twenty years.

Not only that, of the four individuals running in the 2008 race, she was the ONLY one of them who possessed any executive experience. She was more qualified than the lot of them to be president.

You “personally think ...” basic on exactly what? IAC, the ticket lost because the economy caved and everyone —including the White House was sending out signals that Obama was acceptible, even preferable. McCain was at total dud at the conference in DC after September 15, The secretary of the treasury did not like Palin and in his apologia dissed her. What grinds on the Establishment is her persona. Obama looks and talks like one of them. Even Joe Biden looks right even though he talks like an idiot son. As for you “advise” about her career, she is smart enough to know that what you are saying is nonsense. Timing is everything.

You're completely wrong. Until they announced Palin, I was washing my hair on election day 2008.

I know lots of people that felt the same way, and you see quite a number here on this thread, too.
