After all they are elected public officials who’s comments violated the rights of that company and damaged it economically. These mayors violated federal civil rights statutes. “The government can regulate discrimination in employment or against customers, but what the government cannot do is to punish someone for their words,” said Adam Schwartz, senior attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois. “When an alderman refuses to allow a business to open because its owner has expressed a viewpoint the government disagrees with, the government is practicing viewpoint discrimination.”
Other constitutional legal minds state:
Jonathan Turley, a professor at the George Washington University Law School, said Moreno’s intentions raises “serious” constitutional concerns.
Wilson Huhn, a professor and associate director of the Constitutional Law Center at The University of Akron School of Law, echoed Turley’s stance, saying that a denial on behalf of Moreno regarding a second Chick-fil-A restaurant in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood would “absolutely” violate the First Amendment.
“It would be an open and shut case,” Huhn said. “You can’t do that. They cannot be denied a zoning permit based upon the viewpoint of their CEO.”

Chick-Fil-A is an unabashed Christian-owned company, and the owner and management have the absolute RIGHT to profess their faith and live it as they see fit, and the absolute right to run their legal,lawful business as they see fit. And if that runs counter to whatever current scheme to subvert the society that the Left is working this week, well, to their way of thinking, it must be attacked (through “legal” means, for right now) and suppressed for daring to interfere with the agenda.
Every person in this country who considers themselves even nominally Christian should respond to this with outrage and support.
I’m not a big fast food aficionado; but I’ll make it a point to go the Chick-Fil-A near me (about a 1/4 mile away) and support them with my wallet, encouragement, and whatever other support they may need.
We need to be a wall on this, folks. These are OUR people being attacked here, in our own country, by domestic subversives, for exercising their religious freedom. If the way to push back, right now, is with our wallets, then we should do so...
