> Why would “conservatives” abandon their principles and vote for liberal Romney but cling to there principles and not vote for their rino congressmen?

Because there is no third candidate.
We are being forced to choose whether we want cow poo on our shoes or horse poo.

Of course there is a third candidate and a fourth and a fifth.

What you are really saying is that there are only two candidates that could possibly win and that you are going to vote for the lesser of two evils, allow me to quote again the cliche that, "The lesser of two evils, is still evil"

In 2010 we had a senatorial election here in Illinois, that had the typically liberal democrat running against, arguably an even more liberal republican, I voted for the Libertarian, not because I thought he would win but because he was pro life and pro 2A, which neither of the main candidates were. He didn't win, the ultra liberal homo Mark Kirk did.

There were arguments on those Illinois political threads just like what's going on now at the presidential level. I knew then and said that we'd be having these discussions again should, heaven forbid, Romney wins the nomination and by gollies, here we are.
