I was leaning toward believing her, especially having seen her picture, but on second thought, I think she "doth protest too much". Her comment sounds weird. Denying the allegations should be sufficient comment if they have no foundation in fact.

She has a son who plays for the Miami Dolphins. His Wikipedia page has two different versions of his birthdate on the same page (two days apart). Very protracted labor, evidently.

The Lt. Gov. was born in Trinidad and came to the US at the age of 8--but they still call her "African American." Considering that she is an immigrant, maybe "Afro-Caribbean" would be more accurate.

She didn't say that. She didn't make any such statement.

She never made any comments regarding her personal appearance or attractiveness.

When she said "look like me" it is clear she was referring back to her previous statement. The "look" she is pointing out is her life style - a woman in a normal family environment and in a heterosexual marriage for twenty nine years.

"My husband doesn't want to hear that. He knows the type of woman I am. I mean, my kids know the type of woman I am. For twenty-nine years -- I'm the one that's married for twenty-nine years."

If you can find any statement in the article where she mentions anything about her "looks", meaning her appearance or attractiveness, I will be glad to retract this comment.

The “look like me” phrase is probably a direct from the heart comment from a woman who seeks to present herself to her man in an attractive fashion. Lesbians from that perspective tend to be women who could never present themselves to the opposite sex in an attractive fashion.
