I wonder how many may stop listening to Rush now? Another sell out to the GOPe! I can hear the clicks all over the U.S.

I pinged one of them! I've also noticed that where the Rush daily show threads on Free Republic used to easily net 200 posts and more, over the last six months, the threads have dwindled such that on many days, they barely break 100, and often languish somewhere between 37 and 60 posts. The other day I saw one up to more than 200 posts, so I figured maybe Rush had said something courageous ... turns out most of the posts had to do with cooking. :^{

What you wrote was almost a mirror reflection of my own reaction to Rush's words -- I read where Rush urged "never compromise your morality" but considers voting for 100 percent liberal-agenda-pushing Romney because he's registered in the Republican party as "keeping things in persepctive," and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. You ought to hear Windflier go off on it, and Windflier is absolutely correct.

Rush's advice to his listeners regarding Romney can only be one of two things: either he truly believes that electing a liberal statist like Romney isn't going to sanction and increase government tyranny ... or he lacks the courage to stand on his own and tell the GOP-e where they can stick it. EITHER WAY, Rush is on the path to profound failure of everything he's stood for. I pray that he recognizes soon that he's chosen the wrong (and easier) road, and finds the courage to do switch to the path that is HARD but RIGHT.

Excuse you but- FOOLS voted for Obama in 2008.

FOOLS continue to support him and the MarxoFascists now.

We’ve been fractured INTO fools by the Ruling Class who now have us voting FOR fools and calling it wisdom.

Romney is the GOP-e’s fool.

Romney is Obama’s fool.

Voting for either one of them is the pinnacle of what it is to be a fool, especially if one believes either one of them is some kind of savior or stop-gap to ‘the other evil’.

“Obama will destroy every aspect of Americana; religion, Constitution, society, economy.”

“If Obama gets another term, we are finished”

“Obama must be removed or we’re done for”

“Another 4 years of Obama and it’s over”

“Therefore we MUST vote for Romney to save the country”

“Not voting for Romney means you are voting FOR Obama”

Etc.

Etc.

Etc.

This meme espoused here and elsewhere is proof that America is ALREADY finished and there is NO RETURNING to what we were. Not this November, not EVER.

Why have so many people accepted the idea and notion that the Executive is now a monarch and that removing the current ‘king’ and replacing him with ‘our king’ saves us from tyranny??

Why do so many ascribe Obama such power as to acknowledge that his actions confirm his status of absolute ruler? THEN everyone falls into the trap of thinking that using a corrupted electoral process and replacing him with ‘our’ monarch’ will undo the evil perpetrated on us?

I’m stunned at the abject ignorance or the willful cognitive dissonance of exactly where we are arrived and what the reality is.

We’re all being marched to boxcars where our liberty has already been relegated - and few even see it. All hope is being put into a nominee THAT OBAMA HIMSELF AND HIS MEDIA CHOSE TO RUN AGAINST.

Don’t believe me? Go back and review Obama and his media telling us ‘how concerned’ they were if it was Romney they were faced with come November 2012.

Review how Romney mercilessly destroyed every single Conservative even thinking about running, often in conjunction with Obama and the media hit squads.

Now notice his velvet glove and toothless defense against Obama’s attacks. The only thing we have not seen yet - is the McCain syndrome being spewed from Romney’s lips about what a ‘great’ president Obama would make.

This is a shell game sham, the same kind of crap that the Soviet Union did to create the illusion that the people had a choice in selecting their leaders, all for the purpose of maintaining pacification.

The truth is, what you knew of liberty in America is ALREADY gone. We’ve suffered an incremental coup and the useful idiots empowered a True Believer and his minions to the halls of power. They now have a stranglehold on every vital aspect of life and governance in this society. Some of which is going to absolutely stun us when the final checkmate move is made.

Every despotic act of tyranny is ALWAYS ‘legal’ - and often established right under the nose of the very people targeted for destruction.

We’re waaay behind enemy lines folks. Most do not see it because they still have ‘their stuff’. Those that might see it are stuck on the vain hope that a rigged election can save them and their stuff from the gulag being constructed around them.

The really sad, sad reality is - we’ve waited so long to rectify where we have arrived, that Civil War or violence is EXACTLY what the MarxoFascist desperately want and need. That is why they keep poking the very people they have already labeled ‘terrorists’ and have had TWO official government reports (and probably many we don’t know about) classifying patriotic Americans as a domestic security threat.

Wisdom is needed here - and voting for the stooge chosen by Dear Leader to be his opposition IS NOT WISDOM.

It’s a trap.

Voting for Romney does nothing to stop what has happened, nor even slow it down. Voting Romney surrenders the very principles on which liberty itself requires to exist.

And if holding onto what liberty is left is the goal, then moral and religious principles are the ONLY THING that can sustain them and keep them alive in the midst of what is coming.

Only a moral and religious people are capable of liberty. Abandoning moral and religious principles to vote for expedience out of fear surrenders the very thing you want to preserve.

re: “I suggest we all take a deep breath and remember who and what we are fighting for. For me it is my grandkids and a Downs Syndrome Niece, who if the health care is inacted will never reach a ripe old age for she will be of no service to the country.
To all those purists and patriots that are fed up and standing their ground, I respect you, but I pray that what you are doing is really what is good for the country. As this post has really been too emotional for me to say, please respect that this is MHO. Not looking for a fight, just laying out my thoughts.”

I completely agree with your sentiments above. The only MORAL thing to do is vote for as much good as we can get and for as less evil as we can. As I said, you can see from the negative responses to my post that they are hopeless in trying to get them to see reason. They believe Romney is the greater evil and that if you disagree, you are also evil and in league with the devil.

This reminds me of when Idaho tried to pass an abortion law back in the early 1990’s that would have limited it (abortion) to only in cases of rape, incest, or life/death of the mother. This basically would have put abortion back to what it was prior to Roe v. Wade. The whole country was interested in the vote.

The National Right to Life endorsed it as well as many other pro-life groups, however, several Idaho state pro-life groups opposed it because it allowed abortion for rape, incest, and life/death of mother. Even though the law would have restricted abortion 95% of what it was previously, these groups not only opposed the law, they actively worked against it. The vote was very close but it lost and abortion continued at its full 100% kill rate.

They simply refused to compromise AT ALL because they didn’t get 100% restrictions against abortion. I am not for aborting rape babies or incest babies, but if I can get 95% of abortions stopped I will go for that and work on the others in the future.

If Obama wins the country as we know it, I fear, will be lost forever. Some of these people think a civil war will fix our problems, but the problem with that (aside from sheer insanity) is that once something like that happens there is no guaranteeing what we will end up with.

Romney is the last sliver of hope that mending might occur, otherwise it will be civil war and you and your "I voted 3rd party on principle" pals had better be ready.

1. I don't know about others, by my third party vote has as much to do with hard calculation of helping the conservatives I'll be voting for down-ticket; you are mistaken in thinking "principle" is the only reason to vote this way. Every third party vote will help deny a mandate for the next socialist president we're guarnateed to get no matter who we vote for.

2. Your desperation to avoid anything like Civil War by sanctioning Romney as the defacto leader of the Republican party, represents a solid march on the path toward where England is now. Heed Brother FReeper gzzimlich. In April he wrote:

I live in a country (the UK) where the “conservative” choice supports gay marriage, socialised healthcare and the “right” of unions to make domestic labour almost prohibitively costly to employers. I emphasize that this is the “conservative” candidate (David Cameron.)

Romney might seem like a decent option when compared with Obama, but my country ... is a prime example of what happens when you compromise your principles and start rationalising voting for the lesser of two evils.

Preventing Romney from getting a mandate presents "the last sliver of hope that mending might occur." The only way to vote for that is to vote third party. Every third party vote -- and there will be plenty from former Democrats who have increasingly come to loathe Obama -- will count toward denying a mandate for WHICHEVER government authoritarian statist wins, Obama or Romney.

Or does principle, not to mention character, only matter when the politician is a Democrat?

And your practical doable solution for this November is what?

Preparing body and soul for what is coming after.

November is lost and already gone as far as Conservatism and liberty is concerned if you think and hope that voting is the answer.

That was a fabulous post. A line that is the crux:

Why have so many people accepted the idea and notion that the Executive is now a monarch and that removing the current ‘king’ and replacing him with ‘our king’ saves us from tyranny??

Obviously you have not a clue what I’m even talking about or suggesting.

You’re stuck on what you’ve been served as a choice, that a slave mentality not one of a free individual.

I fear for people like you, whether you will even be able to hold onto your faith with what is coming upon us when many finally wake up and recognize what has already been done to them.

You cannot survive a war or enemy occupation, much less win against an entrenched enemy if you will not face the reality of where you stand, and the situation around you.

Amen to that! I might add that fighting evil with evil never works. It is absolutely true that only a moral/religious population can be truly free. It is their morality that keeps them in check and law abiding. Thus, they don’t require tyrany to suppress them.

“Who are you voting for Nov. 6?”

It won’t be Obama or Romney. I will vote for a third party candidate as Finny proposes in post 105...a logical concept. I will pick one of them. The only one I would not consider voting for would be the Libertarian. Voting for Libertarians violates my religious & moral beliefs.

Down ticket I need to get Vicky Hartzler reelected to Congress and oust Claire McCaskell from the Senate. I am currently a resident of Missouri.

Yes, exactly.

A quote from Benjamin Franklin is appropriate here to put an exclamation on your point:

“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” - Benjamin Franklin

A moral people beholden to the Supreme Governor of the Universe are already obedient to the Highest Law in existence and have scarce need of men governing them. Such people would oppose with every measure available to them, any men or institution of men attempting to usurp that relationship.

But we are no longer such a people - neither are we even capable of standing on a common foundation that liberty requires in order to exist outside of the tyranny of men.

If Rush put his mouth and his energy into real Constitutional conservative issues, he would fire those at the top up - it could light a fire under them, so to speak.

He appears to be merely a mouthpiece for the GOP PTB.

I stopped listening to him years ago; I started listening in the late 80s when he was local in Sacramento, and continued for years.

Romney isn’t the nominee yet. I am so hoping for a revolution at the convention. IMHO Romney is the worst of all the lukewarm statist RINOs that have been crammed down our throats for decades.

We have a severe drought right now in Iowa. Need probably a slow week of about 6 inches of rain.
The corn crop is in a critical phase

That doesn't appear to be a widespread drought breaking rain coming. There have been smaller amounts of half an inch coming. Those smaller amounts will buy time for some farmers and will save some of the corn crop; waiting for the much larger widespread rain.

Obama is the drought; Romney is the small amount of rain.
We know the outcome with no rain; total disaster.

Smaller rains will buy time; that is how I view Romney. not ideal; but buys us some time hopefully.

Obviously you have not a clue what I’m even talking about

Well I'm not so sure you do. The only alternative to the electoral process is to overthrow the government.

You going to do that?

You’re stuck on what you’ve been served as a choice, that a slave mentality not one of a free individual.

Well, not exactly, but I doubt one election cycle is going to fix the whole problem. Certainly not if Obama wins.

I fear for people like you, whether you will even be able to hold onto your faith with what is coming upon us when many finally wake up and recognize what has already been done to them.

What the Hell, according to you, all is lost...Quando omni flunkus moritati.

You cannot survive a war or enemy occupation, much less win against an entrenched enemy if you will not face the reality of where you stand, and the situation around you.

I'll be watching the news, looking for the puff of smoke that was you. Try not to kill any innocent people...OK?
