NAACP leader accuses Romney of favoring white people after speech

The response from one NAACP leader after Mitt Romney’s speech before the organization on Wednesday? He favors white people.

“I believe his vested interests are in white Americans,” Charlette Stoker Manning, the chairwoman of Women in NAACP, told the website BuzzFeed following the Republican candidate’s Wednesday speech in Houston.

“You cannot possibly talk about jobs for black people at the level he’s coming from. He’s talking about entrepreneurship, savings accounts — black people can barely find a way to get back and forth from work,” Manning said.

Romney was booed at several points throughout his speech — the loudest being when Romney spoke of his desire to see “Obamacare” repealed. The Republican also received applause at times throughout the speech, notably for saying he’d protect traditional marriage.

In his speech, he argued that a Romney administration would better serve African-American voters.

“If you want a president who will make things better in the African-American community, you are looking at him,” Romney said.

In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, the NAACP thanked Romney for addressing the convention but stressed they disagree with his policies.

“While we are glad that Governor Romney recognized the power of the black electorate, he laid out an agenda that was antithetical to many of our interests,” said NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous.

I wonder where he thinks jobs come from... oh, wait, I know, and you can see it in the demographics of the gov’t work force...

According to his experience, jobs for blacks don’t come from entrepeneurs, they come from government.

There is no way to “teach” out of this belief system. It simply has to be dismantled, and then they can assimilate and prosper.

“Well, it sounds to me like perpetual welfare is the only thing her black people will accept, provided the black people don’t need to ride a bus to the welfare office. Obviously getting back from the welfare office isn’t a problem, that way is a taxi ride.”

Jesus....should I just stop posting here and go find a forum that doesn’t hate all blacks. Stop Generalizing. Not every black person thinks that way. Don’t let CNN fool you.

65 years of liberalism in Detroit hasn’t phased the takers, only the producers who have fled, until the parasites have killed the host.

“I have simple anecdotal proof of this if anyone is interested.”

Interesting. Sure, post it.

I actually did reply to a previous poster but later got an error message so I lost the text. Anyway I feel like I’m hijacking the OPs thread as this is supposed to be about Romneys visit to the NAACP. Maybe Offline or I maybe I could post a vanity thread (which I’m not sure of the rules at the moment). As I stated this is just my theory and I’m not a scientist so don’t expect anything earth shattering but I will explain when I get more time.

The cracker did not express hatred against the equal rights of white Americans as is expected by the racially segregated, racist NAACP.

It really is hit or miss. I work closely with two blacks with the same business degrees; one received hers decades ago, and is as knowledgeable as any “white” person, while the second received his within the past five years and knows nothing (they are the same age). I guess it would be more accurate to say the timing of the degree is crucial; decades ago blacks were treated as humans by the government, and earning a degree indicated they could do the coursework and learn the material. Today they are simply handed the degree for statistical purposes, with no expectations/learning attached.
