The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission a federally-funded organization conducted a special survey last year from June 17- July 17 and found that 65 percent of all fireworks injuries occurred within the month of the July 4th holiday.

For thousands of consumers, last years 4th of July celebration ended with a visit to the emergency room, CPSC Chairman Inez Tenenbaum said in a press release. CPSC wants you to understand the risks with legal and illegal fireworks, in order to prevent an injury, or worse, during this holiday.

Since most fireworks deaths occur during the warm month of July, it is projected that fireworks deaths will skyrocket as global warming continues to superheat the planet. More studies are needed to understand the connection between AGW and fireworks deaths.

Also, make sure fellow workers in your vicinity have their fingers OFF the trigger of their nailgun when your leg, or other parts, may come into contact with the muzzle. I was lucky, the nail only went in about a quarter inch.
