Does anyone here know exactly how much of a tax must be paid by those who refuse to buy health insurance?

I think this calculates it:

True, but not entirely. The administration made the tax argument their 3rd backup argument. It is not what they wanted to have it upheld as. They’ll take it to be sure, but the court said that the mandate is legal only as a tax. The actually does have implications beyond just we won/lost. Congress could, in theory, pass a tax code revision that says the penalty for not having insurance is $1. That upholds the mandate but neuters the penalty portion of it.

Where do we fight? Who do we fight?

Look around. Look at your neighbors. Listen to the coffee conversation.

There are lot more grasshoppers than ants. People don't want responsibility, they want to be slaves. They desire the safety of a prison where they are not held responsible for anything.

Yup. As long as they pretend to let us vote for one or the other of Janus' faces, they'll be fat, dumb and happy. The alternative is not going to be pretty.

La-dee-da

You clearly do not know what Marxism is and calling Christians who don’t vote for Romney for religious reasons bigots is what a Marxist would do.

I don’t care what kind of education you have, you need more.

And here it comes...an education from the Highest Authority—God Himself....are you equipped to argue with Him?

Proverbs 6:16-19 (NKJV)

16 These six things the Lord hates,Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look, A lying tongue, [we call this “evolving views”] Hands that shed innocent blood, [abortion]
18 A heart that devises wicked plans, [gay marriage]
Feet that are swift in running to evil, [gay adoption]
19 A false witness who speaks lies, [better known as flip-flop]
And one who sows discord among brethren. [Christians sure are out of harmony with each other right now. Your kind words are evidence of this.]

Hum...interesting, “Windy”, while it is clear Obama has all these qualities, it would seem Romney has issues....

Proverbs 14:26-27(NKJV)

26 In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And His children will have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
To turn one away from the snares of death.

The snares of death is where Obama is leading, so “Windy”, let’s turn to the fountain of life—Romney.

Proverbs 15:3(NKJV)

3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place,
Keeping watch on the evil and the good.

“Windy”, do you believe this? But do you also believe that all God does is *watch* and that is why you have to save the day by voting for Romney?

Proverbs 24:11-12(NKJV)

11 Deliver those who are drawn toward death,
And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.
12 If you say, “Surely we did not know this,”
Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it?
He who keeps your soul, does He not know it?
And will He not render to each man according to his deeds?

“Windy”...that last sentence is heavy. Christians who are willing to forsake principle thinking they are desperate, are lying to themselves. These Christians can say, “surely we did not know this”, but God knows they did.

Romney has a very different understanding of “truth” than does the average Christian. He is a poor choice, and certainly not the only choice.

Proverbs 25:28(NKJV)

28 Whoever has no rule over his own spirit
Is like a city broken down, without walls.

The Republican party has Christians running in circles waiting for the party to tell them how they can save themselves.

1 Corinthians 10:13(NKJV)

13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

The Republican party says you have just one choice, and if you are a Christian, you have to make a compromise. God says there are other choices besides compromising principle.

Proverbs 14:12(NKJV)

12 There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.

The Republican party is telling you the *right* way, “Windy”.

Acts 5:29(NKJV)

29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

I will heed this instruction in November.

Philippians 3:17-21 (NKJV)

17 Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. 18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

This is where my heart is, and I will not vote for Romney or Obama.

Is America too big to fail?

Isaiah 60:12(NKJV)

12 For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish,
And those nations shall be utterly ruined.

God bless those who fear Him more than they fear Obama. Maybe more will make this clear choice and not compromise principle?

What about you, “Windy”?

Like most SC rulings, the first reports are not entirely accurate. This commentator

http://www.scotusblog.com/2012/06/dont-call-it-a-mandate-its-a-tax/

seems to indicate that the law may still not work as desired if it is a tax rather than a mandate:

Since President Obama signed the new law, it has been understood by almost everyone that the expansion of health care coverage to tens of millions of Americans without it could work — economically — only if the health insurance companies were guaranteed a large pool of customers. The mandate to buy health insurance by 2014 was the method Congress chose to supply that pool. It is not immediately clear whether the Court’s approach will produce as large a pool of new customers. The ACA’s key provision now amounts to an invitation to buy insurance, rather than an order to do so, with a not-very-big tax penalty for going without.

Roberts was playing King Solomon on this ruling. He acknowledged that this beast of a law is the product of politics and the ultimate resolution will be the product of politics. He took away the Democrats’ ability to force this through under the illegal use of the Commerce Clause.

Good analysis. The power still remains with the People, i.e., the Congress.

Yes, but that’s the way it’s always been if you think about it. The tax code has been used to punish and reward for decades now.
At least the legislators have to stand up and call whatever they’re trying to do a tax and face the voters.

Congress has always had the power to repeal or replace this law and the GOP House voted to repeal in 2011 and that vote died in Harry Reid's Senate.

If this is going to be undone, it must be done by Congress. That means in November Republicans need to sweep Obama and Dems out as much as possible.

The "individual mandate" is OK as a tax according the High Court. Obama claimed it wasn't a tax; he lied.

Other than something dealing with state MediCaid programs, the law appears to have been upheld as is.

If you don't like it, you know who to vote for and who to donate to: GOP candidates, including Romney, and conservative Super PACs.

I'm disturbed because of the economic impact the law appears to have had on employers.

Yes, everyone needs to take a deep breath. The fight is far from over.

How many times have we heard this kind of bullsh*t, as the country continues it's slide into the abyss...The entire economy, our standard of living, our freedoms, sovereignty, jobs, continue to go f'ing belly up, right before your freaking eyeballs?

I read crap like this, and my first thought is these are comments you'd expect from those collecting gold plated government retirements pensions, trying to convince all, everything is going to be just peachy.

Guess what? You don't win anything against a corrupt government and your not going to win anything by traditional means. If the past 10 years didn't convince you of this, *nothing* will.

Muslims are exempt from the individual mandate. They got an imam to immediately say that Islam is against insurance, so Obama exempted them. So what was just said in that footnote you quoted - about those who are subject to the individual mandate - applies to everybody except Muslims and the Amish.

This confirms that Muslims will neither buy insurance nor pay this “tax”. Only infidels will be subject to this tax.

America, pay very, very close attention. John Roberts just approved a dhimmi tax in line with sharia.

So are you saying that ObamaCare now has to go back to Congress for approval as a TAX?

No, and that's where Roberts screwed us.

Roberts upheld the law by perceiving it in his mind as a tax even if it won't be implemented or considered a tax by the government.

...repeat 4 simple words Glenn Beck has been saying the last few weeks.

I. Will. Not. Comply.

That is the bottom line. If the American people don't rebel against this monstrosity in every way imaginable, we will have willingly forfeited our birthright.

"Since the Court decided the "individual mandate" was a tax, under the Anti-Injunction Act (AIA), federal courts should not be hearing ObamaCare cases until it's fully implemented and someone pays a penalty in 2015. That's what the 4th Circuit found while two other Circuits believed AIA didn't apply to the mandate."

Completely astute, and also completely precluded by Robert's decision. It's moot, he's short-circuited that by remanding the decision in the present to Congress. 'Congress, it's a tax, do what thou wilt.'

“then the IRS can put you in jail, right? How is that not coercive?”

Does anyone have citation of IRS getting 16,000 new IRS agents and, at the same time, IRS agents could carry guns. Wha....?

It is just in the back of my head. Did IRS get the 16,000 and gun rights?
