*** Syrian conflict initiators are trying to force out Russia from the Middle East

Moscow, June 20, Interfax - The Supreme Mufti of Syria Ahmad Badreddin Hassun thinks that global conflict of the West and the East would come soon.

"Another global war with Russia is approaching. It's going to be gas pool war. The world industry will be transferred from oil to gas. And Russia wants to be cut off the Middle East region, so that it couldn't thrust one's way with its interest," said mufti in his interview published by Komsomolskaya Pravda daily.

"Afghanistan will fire Pakistan, then Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. One fine day Russia will be on turn. The final goal is to concentrate the world economy in only hands, diving competitors in the shadow," Hassun said.

As he remarked, if the terror involves Syria today it will sink down into republics of the former USSR: "the Backford fuse last from Saudi Arabia through Jordan Syria, Turkey and at last Russia. Three quarters of the way are gone."

"They want to block Russia. I ask you - which port on the Mediterrenian Sea will accept the Russian ships? Neither Turkey, nor Greece, nor Italy, nor Spain, nor Morocco will give you a glass of fresh water. Just in Tartus the Russians are always welcome," said mufti.

He remarked that by "they" he meant America and Europe.

As to the pull-stringer - they are sionists who act allover the world. They tried to destroy the Russian economy for 20 years. Practically they succeeded. Certainly the first-rate oil-men pull the stringers," Islamic leader declared.

I would like all the supporters of the genocidal Baath Socialist Syrian regime to explain to me why this Syrian mufti is one of the "good muslims" because he is on Russia's side against the USA.

another mad islamic profit filled with years of his own myths

giving his voice to the genocidal Syrian Baathists, for whatever it is they have promised/are promising him.

on the flip side

there is no “good side” from a realistic western perspective,in what’s happening in Syria

it is simply one of many current venues where the age-old conflict between Sunni and Shia Muslims, seeking to be the top dogs in Islam, is being played out

with the radical Sunni fundamentalist alliance of the Saudi-Wahabi theology, Saudi & Gulf money and the Muslim Brotherhood attempting to oust Iranian Shia influence in Syria - for whatever it may gain them, not us

sorry, the west does not have a dog in that race

from a western perspective, there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between the Saudi-Wahabi clerics, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Mullahs in Iran.

Failure to understand this lets westerners simply choose one wrong faction over another wrong faction.

true, but it is in our interests for both the dogs to keep fighting each other, instead of turning their attention on us. Let them kill each other.

Precisely so. Any Russians are a bonus. KEEP OUR GUYS OUT OF IT! KEEP US OUT OF IT EVEN AS SUPPORTERS OF ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER!

Our current Administration, and even some here (HI JOE!), don’t seem to understand this.

Choosing “the good guys” side in this is like trying to pick up a turd by the clean end.
