..”Mike,” I wrote to colleague Mike Vanderboegh, people are going ape with the Ogden video and the $10M for Gunrunner—they don’t understand that Gunrunner was not kept secret and was actually publicized, is not synonymous with F&F, and that authorizing Gunrunner is not the same as authorizing GunWALKER—as a result, a lot of hysterical and unfounded conclusions are being jumped to that will muddy the waters and discredit people making those arguments—and by default, the real arguments—I don’t know if this started because well-meaning people who don’t understand the details think they’ve found something and are trying to be helpful, but the way this is going viral it almost seems like somebody knew which buttons to push to get the gun crowd screaming after something that will be used to ridicule the entire effort as tinfoil ignorance. I think you and I need to address this in some sort of statement.

The differences between the Bush administration’s Operation Wide Receiver and the Obama administration’s Operation Fast and Furious have been written about extensively by the journalists who broke the story in December 2010.
But to humor the mindless liberals let’s say the programs were identical. If so, why would Obama’s appointees ratchet up a “flawed” program? Why would Holder, Clinton, Napolitano and Obama not call President Bush out for such a “botched” strategy?
Where was Holder in 2009 when his Deputy David Ogden publicly stated, “The president has directed us to take action to fight these cartels and Attorney General Eric Holder and I are taking several new and aggressive steps as part of the administration’s comprehensive plan?”

President Obama held his second presidential news conference during prime time in the East Room of the White House. In opening remarks he outlined his administration’s approach to economic stimulus policy, the federal budget, fiscal regulation, and long-term economic growth.
He then answered questions on a number of topics including the economy, efforts to assist Mexico in combatting drug cartels, international monetary policy, tax policy, stem cell research, and the Middle East peace process.

That is the point of this investigation. They had full funding for GUNRUNNER through 2010, but they went and perverted it for their own purposes which had nothing to do with gunrunner.
Fast and Furious is what has now become known as GUNWALKER which was coined by Codrea and Vanderboegh.
GUNRUNNER was a well publicized op with the full cooperation of the Mexican authorities. They knew NOTHING of FAST & FURIOUS.
Fast and Furious was a pure, out and out, criminal undertaking, planned and executed by the obama administration with the specific intent to cause murder and mayhem.
