Humberto Fontova

Back on April 23rd, 2000 Fox News’ Andrew Napolitano had a few questions for (then Deputy) Attorney General Eric Holder. Here they are thanks to The Media Research Center :

Napolitano : Tell me, Mr. Holder, why did you not get a court order authorizing you to go in and get the boy (Elian Gonzalez)?

Holder : Because we didn’t need a court order. INS can do this on its own.

Napolitano : You know that a court order would have given you the cloak of respectability to have seized the boy.

Holder : We didn’t need an order.

Napolitano : Then why did you ask the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals for such an order if you didn’t need one?

Holder : [Silence]

Napolitano : The fact is, for the first time in history you have taken a child from his residence at gunpoint to enforce your custody position, even though you did not have an order authorizing it. When is the last time a boy, a child, was taken at the point of a gun without an order of a judge…Unprecedented in American history.”

Holder : “He was not taken at the point of a gun.”

Napolitano : “We have a photograph showing he was taken at the point of a gun.”

Holder : “They were armed agents who went in there who acted very sensitively…”

This “sensitivity” consisted of the INS macing, kicking, and gun-butt their way into Lazaro Gonzalez's house on the morning of April 22, 2000, wrenching a bawling 6-year-old child from his family at machine-gun point and bundling him off to Castro’s Stalinist fiefdom, leaving 102 people injured, some seriously.

Fontova is always great. Is he ever on Hannity or does Beck ever pick him up? BTW, I remember the night of the raid on FR very well. In my opinion, those of us who opposed the grab are vindicated by this history over the large contingent of FReepers who based their argument on the “father’s rights.”

After Holder’s appointment as deputy attorney general in 1997, he met directly with members of Congress, including Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), and persuaded them not to look into the string of suspicious deaths of those in custody connected with the Oklahoma City investigation. At the time, Holder knew that the FBI had provided the explosives used by McVeigh. He also knew that the FBI had failed to locate the portion of the explosives that had not been used.

..when your incompetent, you get better at it...incompetence. Sound familiar?

Let’s not also forget Holder’s role in the Marc Rich pardon.

Holder has been a liar and fixer for the Communists for many years.

The Elian controversy brings back bad memories.

As the converse to Mochelle—I never felt so ashamed to be an American as on the day he was removed from that home. The entire Clinton administration was complicit in that crime against humanity.

Another reason why Clinton cannot be forgiven the many crimes he has committeed, from rape to selling military secrets to the Chinese to the removal of an innocent boy into servitude that his mother died to bring into freedom. He bowed this country to that b@stard Castro, without due process. Make no mistake, the terror and power exhibited in that raid was meant to send a message to the rest of us as well.

I pray the day will come when an adult Elian will renounce the Cuban government and become a free man.

In the meantime, Eric Holder must be held accountable for Fast and Furious. Call your reps and talk to people about it—our government worked to arm the Mexican drug cartels deliberately in order to faciltiate the murder of hundreds of Mexicans in order to enact more stringent gun laws here and to restrict the Second Amendment.

All that evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing.

Don’t “do nothing”.

I well recall that Eric Holder was Janet Reno's henchman during the Elian Gonzalez saga. In fact, I believe Holder was the one who prodded Reno into grabbing the boy and sending him back. I've detested Holder since then and I pray for his professional downfall.

AG Eric Holder was responsible for 168 deaths in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing…and more

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2822262/posts

Documents obtained by Salt Lake City attorney Jesse Trentadue in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit show then Clinton Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder authorized members of the FBI to provide explosives to Oklahoma City bombing criminals Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols immediately prior to the April, 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah building.

Holder had authorized the FBI to provide the explosives to McVeigh and Nichols in conjunction with a Clinton Administration undercover operation named PATCON, an acronym for “Patriot Conspiracy.” As Jesse Trentadue describes it, “PATCON was designed to infiltrate and incite… militia[s] and evangelical Christians to violence so that the Department of Justice could crush them.”

Both Waco and Ruby Ridge are now known to have been PATCON inspired, Department of Justice plots. Shortly after the Oklahoma City bombing, Holder instructed FBI agents to recover from Terry Nichols any remainder of the explosives the Bureau had provided him and McVeigh.

To the chagrin of Eric Holder, the explosives were later discovered by another agency, complete with the fingerprints of both Nichols, McVeigh and 2 FBI agents.

Holder had reportedly offered Nichols respite from the death penalty for his cooperation in recovering the explosives. Obviously the Deputy Attorney General considered covering up his criminal complicity in the bombing eminently worth sparing Nichols just punishment for the murders of 168 innocent Americans.

Jesse Trentadue accidentally came across PATCON while investigating the murder of his brother Kenneth at the hands of the Clinton Department of Justice.

An FBI informant familiar with the Oklahoma City bombing story, Kenneth was found hanged in his cell after having been jailed by the FBI. Though an official FBI report had listed Kenneth as a suicide, it was obvious that he had been severely beaten and his throat cut….

Possibly the Spanish folk do not associate the kidnapping of the boy to Holder and the democrats. When the democrats have used up the Spanish they will be kicked to the curb just like Cindy Sheehan.
This group of leftest, marxist want to destroy America as it was founded, and they are doing a fine job of it now.

This is a despicable act and one that brings infamy on those associated with it. It’s etched deeply in my mind. That said, a father does have rights, just not under communism. That Holder made it to USAG after this abuse of power tells you just how dirty Washington really is.

Do "Fast and Furious" wasn't Holder's first square dance, he also provided access to explosives to Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nicholson.

This makes it even more likely that they are attempting to cover up his and Obama's involvement in FF.

Yes a Father has rights.

But Elian wasn’t being held in some compound. He was available to be peaceably picked up at any time. His caregivers made that clear.

The Clinton administration went in with blunt force anyway.

And a lot of those 168 deaths were black children. I cannot imagine what it takes for this racist creep to rationalize that record. To this day I still wonder if Timothy McVeigh is alive on an island somewhere. That none of this came out at his confirmation hearing shows just how far we have to go.

This man should hang, publicly. The fires of hell are too good for him.

Easy, easy, I get it and got it then. I was simply pointing out the absurdity of the idea. You cannot compare rights in liberty to “rights” in tyranny.

Liberals have lost it and are completely compromised by the doctrine of dictatorship.

I think that the moment Elian was back in Cuba the brainwashing began--he's probably convinced now that Castro is wonderful and his American relatives were horrible.

The one thing that the Clinton administration avoided, once Castro let it be known he wanted Elian returned, was to give Elian's father the option of joining Elian in the U.S. Elian's father was never free when he was in the U.S.--he was always accompanied by some of Castro's guards.

There was a Catholic nun who was initially in favor of Elian being sent back to Cuba, until she met Elian's grandmother and saw the fear in her eyes.

I see this missing from the thread. I'll add this about Eric Holder's role pardoning FALN Puerto Rican terrorists:

"Below is the full interview I conducted exclusively for Red State over the weekend with Joseph Connor about Eric Holder’s role in expedited clemency for members of the FALN granted by President Bill Clinton in 1999. Joe is the son of Frank Connor who was murdered in 1975 by members of the Puerto Rican Armed Forces for National Liberation (FALN). Eric Holder is President-elect Barack Obama’s nominee to be the Attorney General and former Deputy Attorney General in the Bill Clinton Administration. Holder will be testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee this Thursday, January 15 at 9:30 am.

Joe agreed to be interviewed about former Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder’s role in those grants of clemency and recent reports from the Los Angeles Times that “As deputy attorney general in 1999, Holder — now attorney general nominee — pressed subordinates to drop objections to clemency for 16 members of violent Puerto Rican nationalist organizations.” The FALN has been linked too over 150 bombings and other activities that resulted in the death of at least six people and injuries to many others in a terrorist criminal spree that lasted from 1974 to 1983."

-snip-

According to news reports in the LA Times, Hartford Courant, NY Daily News, NY Times and recently released memos, as Deputy Attorney General in charge of the Pardon Attorney during the end of the Clinton years, Eric Holder actively pushed for the release of these murderous terrorists. According to the LA Times of January 9, 2009, Holder ignored recommendations of the FBI, Bureau of Prisons, former Pardon Attorney, Margaret Love and even Janet Reno herself who warned about the danger of releasing unrepentant terrorists. He instructed his staff at Justice’s Office of the Pardon Attorney to effectively replace the department’s original report recommending against any commutations, which had been sent to the White House in 1996, with one that favored clemency for at least half the prisoners, according to these interviews and documents. After Pardon Attorney Roger Adams resisted, Holder’s chief of staff instructed him to draft a neutral “options memo” instead. The options memo allowed Clinton to grant the commutations without appearing to go against the Justice Department’s wishes, Adams and his predecessor, Margaret Colgate Love, said in their first public comments on the case.

Further, Holder reportedly met with supporters of FALN clemency nine times and ignored the victims and their families such as ours. This violated the victim’s Rights and Restitution Act of 1990, a “responsible official” was to provide victims with the earliest possible notice of the release from custody of the offender. The law reads at 42 U.S.C. Section 10607(c)(5): ..."
