Romney Press Secretary Andrea Saul attacked President Barack Obama’s decision to invoke executive privilege on documents pertaining to the Fast and Furious scandal requested by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
“President Obama’s pledge to run the most open and transparent administration in history has turned out to be just another broken promise,” she said in a statement to BuzzFeed.

I need a legal beagle to explain something. On FOX a little while ago Chris Plante was debating with a lib about F & F. The lib’s stance is that NONE of the remaining paperwork being requested by Issa CAN be turned over as it’s “lawyer work-product” and as such is somehow sacred.
He if full of crap (and so is Holder/Obama)...
Holder had urged Obama to assert the privilege in a letter (PDF) dispatched Tuesday evening. Holder wrote that sharing the internal documents could have “significant, damaging consequences” and would “inhibit candor” of future executive branch deliberations.
The Justice Department has turned over 7,600 pages of Fast and Furious documents, but Issa wants additional information about department deliberations that occurred after questions were raised about the probe, the Post says. Republicans want to know why the department issued and then withdrew a February 2011 letter to Congress saying officials had only recently learned of the Fast and Furious program.
Holder wrote in his letter to Obama that a congressional committee cannot defeat a claim of executive privilege unless the requested documents are “demonstrably critical” to responsible fulfillment of legitimate committee legislative functions. In this case, he said, the standard was not met.
Forcing the executive branch to turn over documents about its response to oversight inquiries “would create a detrimental dynamic that is quite similar to what would occur in litigation if lawyers had to disclose to adversaries their deliberations about the case,” Holder said. “As the Supreme Court recognized in establishing the attorney work product doctrine, ‘it is essential that a lawyer work with a certain degree of privacy, free from unnecessary intrusion by opposing parties and their counsel.’ ”
I’m calling BS. That would only be true if no crime was involved. Perjury and cover-up of conspiracy to murder are both crimes. A lawyer can’t help hide evidence of a crime.
I think Hillary is in this “deeply”. She is SOS. She is responsible for anything happening involving USA and any other entity. They are all going to fall like a house of cards.
The AG office serves as lawyer to The People, he does NOT serve as personal lawyer to the president; therefore, BO is NOT his client and no privilege is in order. We went through this with Nixon.
If it’s “executive privilege,” then the WH is acknowledging that this was a program authorized at a high level in the Administration, not just Justice on a spree.
This is also a crock....(what is the legitimate committee functions if not to investigate the killing of a Fed. employee by illegal guns distributed BY THEM?!)

I said no, son, I am strangely happy and at peace today, because Zippy stepped into it big time, and he will not win the Exec Privilege argument, and he has now implicated himself into Fast and Furious.
Having lived through Watergate, I know we will be able to hammer the Left on Obamagate, and hoist them on their own petard multiple times.
Dems will now be forced to either support a crook or to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, just in time for re-election.

Earlier today, President Obama asserted executive privilege, allowing the Justice Depart not to release documents requested in the Operation Fast and Furious inquiry. Unhappy with this response, Rep. Darrell Issa proceeded with the hearing to consider Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. Following up on the morning’s developments, House Speaker John Boehner accused the White House of a cover up.
Per the statement from Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel:
Until now, everyone believed that the decisions regarding ‘Fast and Furious’ were confined to the Department of Justice. The White House decision to invoke executive privilege implies that White House officials were either involved in the ‘Fast and Furious’ operation or the cover-up that followed. The Administration has always insisted that wasn’t the case. Were they lying, or are they now bending the law to hide the truth?
Issa called Obama’s decision “untimely” this morning, adding that it wasn’t cause enough to delay the matter.
Wonder whih rat will be the first to jump ship...WIll they all head for the bow in mass?

Cost info is not in itself a bad thing to know. However the costs have been largely driven upwards by the Obama/Holder stonewalling for nearly a year and a half.
