As I understand it, and I may be wrong here, but he was not headed to his dad's apartment.  He lived outside the complex and was headed there.  Regardless, you raised the issue of him being able to travel through the complex without being followed.  Generally I agree with that thought, but if the complex has been experienceing a lot of break-ins, I don't think it's beyond reasonable for him to be checked out either.  And at what point does it become reasonable to sit on top of someone banging their head into the cement or pavement, sufficient enough to cause multiple streams of blood to slow three to five inches.

You may be right here, but once again, I believe Travon lived outside the complex and was returning home to there.  I appologize in advance if that is incorrect.

I believe he meant the assholes that keep breaking and entering complex domiciles.  The people who had been doing this, had not been caught and the complex's residents were upset about it.

If Travon did live there with his dad, all he had to do was state that, explain where he had been, and move on.

Zimmerman had no way of knowing where Travon was coming from.  For all he knew, Travon had just broken into a unit, was casing a unit, or was meeting up with someone to break into a unit.  While I can't know everything that was going through Zimmerman's mind, he couldn't, and I can't know everything that was going through Travon's mind either.  Yes, you now know that Travon had just been to 7-11.  Zimmerman wasn't privy to that information that night.  He was following a possible perp.

The logic is, you shouldn't merely allow people you suspect may be a good candidate for having been involved in illegal activity, to leave without getting their license plate number or checking them out.  I do not see a normal stop and question as reason enough for someone to try to kill you.

You see a person carrying something walk out of your neighbor's yard late at night.  You speak up and approach them.  Are they then within their rights to throw you to the ground and bead your head against the side-walk?  If someone is beating your head agains the sidewalk, would you think it reasonable to use lethal force to stop them?
