There was some talk here substantiated with articles and links quite a while back that the name of the mission was played with setting up denial's just like this.

The point of it all was that they could say "oh, I thought you were referencing different program, not this one" because of the slight variation of names....gun walking vs gun running etc.....

I don't doubt that. For instance; Jaime Zapata and Victor Avila were shot with guns "walked" out of a Texas gun shop. Today Holder tried to say, again, that Fast and Furious all started locally in Phoenix. So if you bring up the ATF walking guns from Texas and call it F&F the response will be "that couldn't have been part of F&F because F&F was a Tucson op blah blah blah."

But let's just deal with the confusion of F&F vs. Wide Receiver.
