SOME THINGS TO CONSIDER:
* Even though it’s only 779 votes, the total number of votes cast - 71,700 - would indicate that it is unlikely a recount would change the outcome.
* It might not matter. There’s a pretty good chance the senate won’t even convene until after the November election.
* Number of recall races in 2011-12 (including governor): 15
Number of Democratic wins: 3
The Wisconsin legislature will not reconvene until after the November election, when the GOP will pick up between two and five seats.
This guy will never be seated.
Plus, his district has been redistricted out.
His election means less than nothing.
Start a recall campaign against Lehman.
As with a game of chess, the attempt to recall Walker was a risky gambit, the Democrats and unions overextending themselves and paying the price. But the end game will come in November.
The Republican effort should be to counterattack, targeting the weaker Democrat legislative seats. The Democrats tried, and failed, to get the Republican seats most at risk, so now the Democrat high risk seats are at risk, and the Republicans can focus their attacks on them.
In doing so, the Republicans may pick up solid majorities in both houses, and if they do, it’s payback time.
Does this matter?
I thought the legislature had adjourned for the summer, and there will be an election before the reconviene in the fall in November??? So even if they have a 1 seat majority today, they can’t do anything with it since the election in Nov could completely change everything?
or am I incorrect?
Okay, thought that the congress had adjourned for summer and would not reconviene until after election.
Didn’t know the district had been completely redistricted out of existence too.
You are right, talk about your meaningless victory.. makes you wonder why anyone would even spend the energy or money to run.
Completely empty victory.
The Senate is out of session, and isn’t scheduled to be in session until after the next election.
They would only go into session if Walker called them, but he’s not going to start that rolling circus.

Congradulations Dimwits on your impressive win.
Otherwise, I was watching about 5 minutes of Fox the other night and I heard Judge Napolitano say that death treats on a political leader is protected speech. Does that include Obama?

Napolitano jumped the shark long ago.
He is pro-homo based marriage. We can only hope he does not represent the judiciary.
Are there any moderate/”Blue Dog” Democrats in the Wisconsin senate who will not necessarily always vote in lock step with the rest of the dems there? If so, I would hope that the results of the recall election will not be lost on them, and they’ll act accordingly. Just asking.
Does he have to be sworn in?
Does he have access to offices and staff?
Apparently not, because Obama could never be defined as a "leader."
If you throw a lot of mud against a wall, some of it will stick. The Democrats picked up seats this year and last year by having as many recall elections against Republicans as possible, only won a small number of the races, but those few mattered.
It is similar to the Gore 2000 strategy of only recounting votes in heavy Democrat Counties, knowing that whatever errors were made would be made more often by Democrat voters for the simple reason that there were a higher percentage of their voters in those selected counties than would be statewide.
Both are forms of manipulating the process by being selective of where you attack.
In the general election, they don’t get to be selective, and the GOP will pick up the Wisconsin Senate majority again when that election happens.
You are correct that the senate is unlikely to reconvee until January, by which time the GOP will have retaken the majority (with a pickup of at least 2 seats among the half of the senate seats up for election in November).
But it is not correct to say that the Democrat Lehman (assuming that his lead holds) will never be seated. He was elected to serve out the remainder of the term, which expires after the November 2014 elections. Whoever runs for the Republicans in that senate district in November 2014 (maybe a Wanggaard comeback) is sure to win, given that the district was redrawn to exclude the City of Racine and to replace it with heavily Republican rural and suburban precincts from Racine and Kenosha Counties, but Lehman will hold the seat until January 2015 .
“only 779 votes, the total number of votes cast - 71,700 - would indicate that it is unlikely a recount would change the outcome.”
These are provisional numbers, the official count may be closer- or further.
Though it may be an empty victory for the Dems, the national unions still show their power to remove local politicians who don’t bow to them.
EPU...
This is why I read FR!
Somebody’s always got the straight info...
Thanks...
Well then, he should make one against the prez to test his theory. We'll all just sit back with our popcorn and watch. I'm hoping that you heard wrong because that's a really stupid thing to say on TV.
Tons of idiots out there that believe everything they hear on TV.
