I agree completely except, being old enough to have seen Madonna in her prime (at JFK Stadium - Live Aid), I would say Lady Gaga is more "Madonna redux" than "Madonna on steroids". Madonna was easily (and remains) as prone to frequent reinventions and outrageous costumes and dazzling showmanship as Lady Gaga. It is yet to be seen if Lady Gaga is as talented and durable as Madonna, but I sure do like some of her songs. Lady Gaga's performance HERE, playing piano and singing a song she wrote, is simply extraordinary.

Got to see Maiden, Dio and Motorhead at Cricket Pavilion in Phoenix. My then young daughter, whose only concert has been a Brittany show in Vegas and thought she had been to a ‘real concert’ became suddenly edumicated in the ways of ‘the Metal’ ;)
