Ron Paul ends his hunt for votes
Washington Times ^ | 5/14/2012 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 05/14/2012 12:11:34 PM PDT by Kevin C

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas said Monday he will not compete in primaries in any of the states that have not yet voted — essentially confirming Mitt Romney will win the Republican presidential nomination. Mr. Paul said he will continue to work for delegates in states that have already voted and where the process of delegate-selection is playing out. He said that’s a way to make his voice heard at the nominating convention in Tampa, Fla., in August. “Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted,” Mr. Paul said. “Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have.” He did encourage his supporters to still turn out and vote. His decision not to compete for new votes in other states leaves Mr. Romney as the only candidate still actively fighting for voters’ support.

And if he wants to push his Romneycare (or anything else) on us there is no indication that the GOP in congress won't go along due to pressure to agree with one of their own.

Romney has pledged to repeal Obamacare. If he becomes President and if the GOP controls Congress then I expect Obamacare to be repealed. What do you expect in that scenario?

In essence there will be no opposition party if Mitt is not as you are trying to promise. And evidence is against you to date whether you like it or not.

You make little sense still. I promise nothing. Conservatism is our agenda and we have elected and continue to elect conservatives to Congress. After January we conservatives will need to demand conservative policies and actions from all of our elected officials. What are you talking about?

Sorry I can only celebrate a Romney victory a few ticks more than I can celebrate an Obama defeat.

The issue here is not your innermost feelings, however precious and tender they are. The issue here is getting the job done. That means:

1) Stop the crazy.
2) Stop the lies.
3) Stop the stupid.
4) Promote conservatism.
5) Denounce leftism.
6) Defeat 'Rats.
7) Elect 'Pubs.

And finally: 8) Demand conservative policies from our government at all levels.

Sitting here on FR undermining the above, as so many are doing these days, is the exact opposite of what must be done which is why I am here opposing that crap.

“There are many people posting crazy evil garbage on FR these days. One of them goes by the name “Marcella”.
There are others.”

All I ask was which Freepers were “evil” as you say they are, so I could avoid them and oppose them. Now you say I am one. How can that be when I’m a precious, conservative lady righting the wrongs of the world?

8) Demand conservative policies from our government at all levels.

You can't squeeze blood from a turnip, and you can't get Conservatism from a Mitt.

I suggest you demand of your own self, a belief in Conservatism to demand a Conservative candidate.

Fortunately one exists. Virgil Goode.

You've been around FR long enough to know better than to throw that canard about.

Yam head is either an adolescent on mom’s computer, or his ears ring.

That ringing, yam head, would be the door. It’s the pharmacy. Your meds have arrived.

As for me, I think I will stick with the adults in the room. :)

Romney is running for President as a conservative.

Could you quantify that statement?

I mean severely?

Romney has pledged to repeal Obamacare. If he becomes President and if the GOP controls Congress then I expect Obamacare to be repealed. What do you expect in that scenario?

Also, he's a lying sack of carp. He's already building a team to force all states to adopt Romneycare should Obamneycare be overturned by the Supremes.

http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/01/were-screwed-florida-ag-pam-bondi-claims-mitt-wants-romneycare-in-every-state-video/

Jim Robinson reported on the segment:

"Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi who’s fighting to repeal ObamaCare appeared on Greta, tonight, defending RomneyCare. She says Romney’s health care plan is not the same as ObamaCare and, in fact, Romney’s plan reduces costs. She goes on to say that Romney wants all states to impose similar laws (including mandates) and that she and is all for it. She went on to explain that she’s going to be on Romney’s Health Care Advisory Team when he’s president! What this means is that while Romney may say he wants to repeal ObamaCare, he actually agrees with it. He believes that RomneyCare, ie, ObamaCare is a model health care plan and all states should impose similar plans.

RomneyCare and ObamaCare are the same thing. The only difference is that Romney’s was imposed at the state level where Obama’s was imposed nationally.

RomneyCare = ObamaCare = taxpayer funded abortion = death panels = socialism = government force = fascism = tyranny!!

So Romney and his co-conspirators in the GOP establishment are now planning a National Healthcare Task Force to impose top-down government run national healthcare on all 50 states!!

We all know what Reagan said about government by a group of elites and that socialism would be imposed on America through socialized health care. Well, welcome to the Socialist States Of America if Romney is elected.

If the GOP does this then the hell with them!!"

Rita, you are one of two he said were lying/liers. I need to know the lies you have told so I can oppose you and avoid you. After all, you have “God” in your tag line so that makes you even worse.

Just tell me your lies, OK? And, God bless you, friend Rita.

I am not indifferent between the two therefore I will not vote for someone else.

The President does not dictate to the state legislatures what laws they must pass.

Conservatives in each state are responsible for assuring that their state legislature is held to conservative principles.

“See post #96. You’re not just a liar, you are evil.”

I only asked him the names of the lying, evil Freepers so I could avoid and oppose them - then he threw my name in with the same bunch. A wonderful, lovely person such as myself cannot possibily be evil.

I am so distraught (as you can imagine).

I suggest you calm down right now, rogue yam.

Marcella is NOT a liar, and that goes for RitaOK too.

You’re voting for Romney, fine.

We’re NOT. We’re voting for TEA Party conservatives up and down our ballots, however, while praying for Divine Intervention, preferring to trust in Him, not a “progressive” or Marxist politician when both are serial liars.

If the GOP does this then the hell with them!!

If the GOP in any state passes health care regulations that contradict conservative principles then this is a failing of the grass roots tea party movement of that state.

But what on earth do you mean by "the hell with them"? What is your proposal other than to nominate conservatives to run as Republicans and then try to get them elected?

Are you talking third party?

LOL!!

I guess I lied when I argued that NEWT would go all the way to covention!

Also, I certainly bore false witness when I first responded to yamhead in a civil tone, as if he were a normal FReeper.

We so called liars and evil ones should just stay in our hovels and take lessons from yamhead, putting our finger in a light socket to dry our hair.

Love to you, Marcella.

I will not be supporting Romney in any way, shape, fashion or form.

Jeremiah 7:15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. 16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. 17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

"Behold, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear." —Isaiah 59:1-2

Gideon cries out in Judges 6:13 in anger against God, “but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” Was God being unjust? Not one bit, Gideon was blind to the wickedness of his nation. Back in Judges 6:1 we read, "And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years."

Pray that our leaders and others turn from their wicked ways but don’t pray for them to be blessed or for this nation to be blessed until they turn back to God. Go ahead and support Romney if you want but those of us who do our best to follow Biblical directives will not be with you. Your nastiness is enough to convince me not to join you. You’re on your own this time around.

But what on earth do you mean by "the hell with them"?

Those aren't my words, those are Jim Robinson's - you know, the guy who owns this site?

What is your proposal other than to nominate conservatives to run as Republicans and then try to get them elected?

My proposal is to vote for the Conservative candidate. At the presidential level, neither the (R) nor the (D) candidate meets that criteria - not even close - they are both liberals, however Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party does meet the criteria of being a Conservative. Not perfect mind you, but neither was Newt and I would have gladly voted for him. Down the ballot, there are plenty of fine Conservatives with and (R) after their names. They will get my vote.

Personally, I find your candidate and his/your liberal agenda a non-starter.

You either genuinely fail to understand simple ideas, or else you are dishonestly pretending not to understand them.

I have raised no objection on this thread or anywhere else on FR to those who choose to vote for neither Obama nor Romney. That is not my choice but I understand that decent people sometimes have differing opinions.

What I have objected to are people who say things that are crazy, stupid and or/false. I particularly object to this when the effect (intended or otherwise) is to make it more likely that Obama wins.
