A super PAC supporting Texas Lt. Governor David Dewhurst's Senate campaign has released an internal poll showing him at 57 percent in the GOP race with less than three weeks left until the primary.
The poll shows Dewhurst at 57 percent, followed by Ted Cruz at 16 percent, Tom Leppert at 12 percent, and Craig James at 4 percent. Eleven percent were undecided.
If Dewhurst finishes with over 50 percent of the vote on May 29, he wins the nomination outright. If not, the top two finishers will advance to a July 31 runoff.
The Perception Insight poll of 800 Texas Republican primary voters was conducted for the Texas Conservatives Fund from May 1-7 and carries a margin of error of +/- 3.5 percentage points.

I’m in Houston & have seen plenty of Cruz ads on tv, many of them lately rebutting the Dewhurst ads criticizing Cruz. To look at our mayor & the infamous congressWOMAN you wouldn’t think Houston is any less prog than Austin, but when you count all the suburbs perhaps we are seen as a better use of limited funds than Austin ad buys.

I’ll be happy to cooperate with your request to provide you evidence Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is conservative and would represent Texas in the U.S. Senate better than Cruz for you to take potshots at.
I must remind you, however; that this thread started out as an attack thread against Lt. Gov. Dewhurst, saying his imminent 57% victory in the Texas primary was worth conservatives going “Oh,No!” over. Then, you chimed in with your accusation that Lt. Gov. Dewhurst is as liberal as Speaker Strauss. Then, when I dared ask for evidence that Dewhurst is the liberal Cruz supporters are accusing him of being, called noob, LOL-ed at, your “son”, blockhead, and generally condescended upon.
FYI, it is generally accepted that the person who throwing the mud must back up their words, yet you and the other Cruz people expect the one person who questions your unsupported attack on Dewhurst to provide you with talking points!
But before I get started, I must mention that unlike Cruz, David Dewhurst has not run the relentlessly negative campaign with accusations that his republican opponent is not even conservative. In fact, the only thing Dewhurst campaign has said that could be construed as negative was the truth that Cruz is overzealously representing his client with appeals in a court case his client lost involving Cruz’ client stealing an American Company’s business property.
But, here’s the evidence that David Dewhurst would represent State of Texas in the U.S. Senate better than Cruz, then you can tell me the truth about them one by one.
David Dewhurst was born in Texas and has spent most of his life in Texas, both as a private businessman and elected official in his later years. David Dewhurst went to public schools in Texas, was a college-level athlete, and is an Air Force veteran. After that, he learned all he needed to about Washington bureaucracies and how they work in a brief stint with CIA, to convince him get away from the federal government and move home and enter the private sector. After success there, he was elected at 53 and has served in statewide office, currently as Lt. Governor at a salary of $7,200.00 per year.
In an era of Federal Government mandates in education, Bush Administration high levels of spending, and unfettered, federal governement-encouraged immigration into our border state, Dewhurst has done all he could to limit the taxes and spending. Everyone in government is a product of his generation and times and part of a team that must make society interact peacefully, and that sometimes involves the dreaded C-word - compromise. David Dewhurst has never claimed to be some kind of conservative activist, but neither is he the liberal you are unsuccessfully trying to make him out to be. David Dewhurst’s stands on the issues are well-known and you know as well as I that he will work to get a Constitutional Amendment to balance the federal budget and repeal Obamacare, and stop the green-energy scam and allow domestic energy production, and reign in the excesses of EPA and NLRB and NEA, and that he is very pro-life, and would vote in the Senate every bit as conservatively on the issues, if not more so, than Cruz. Although I did everything you asked, and did so in a civil manner, and went the extra mile with a long post giving you the truth of everything I know of Lt. Gov. Dewhurst and why I think he would be a better U.S. Senator that Ted Cruz, in a ONE by ONE manner, at YOUR OWN request, this is all you have?!
Instead of taking the points one by one, and addressing them, all you do is cut and paste part of the biographical information I gave you on David Dewhurst. All I have been trying to do is find out why Freepers have been fooled into attacking Lt. Gov. Dewhurst, and ask for specificity in the charges they make against him, and nobody has any answers.
This makes me disappointed that some seem to be taking a page from the Romney campaign of unfounded attack ads to destroy his political opponents, as he did to Gingrich last Deember, and as he did to every conservative he faced.

That concept appears not understandable to you, and refusal to understand the reality of it and accept it is why conservatives have gotten bowled over politically for so long, and have thus actually contributed to us getting 16 trillion dollars in debt.
