A 1000 lb beef or two 500 pounders ... that's the (basic) question.
Seems to me the 1000 would probably eat a bit less than two 500's, require a little less space and accomplish the 'task' of being butchered in a little less time.

I get tired of people ringing the fire bell for a five alarm fire when the wet leaves aren’t even smoldering.
This is quite different from "genetically manipulated" species, which involves the insertion of "foreign" genes into the organism's DNA. THAT changes the basic structures/biochemistries of the manipulated organism, and there might possibly be unexpected side effects (though AFAIK, none has ever been identified/proven).
