The day after President Obama endorsed gay marriage, Mitt Romney found himself responding to allegations that as a teenager he taunted a prep school classmate who later came out as gay.

Riiiiiiighhht.... I am sure the voters are going to be absolutely devastated.
Funny thing is, though... Stories like this are likely to help Mitt more than hurt. He may — again MAY — have the Republican nomination sewn up, but his personal stock with Conservatives is still decidedly weak.
When stories like this hit the news, they forcibly remind Conservatives of the depths to which the MSM will sink to attack Republicans — ANY Republican — and the lengths to which they will go to protect Obama.
If this represents their best shot, they’re in trouble.

If we knew anything about Obama I’m sure we’d find much worse. He already admitted to eating a dog. It would be interesting to hear about his background in the religion of peace, if he stoned to death any women, did any beheadings, raped any kids and the other lovely things Muslims do to pass the time.
They keep this up, and I may not feel bad about voting for him in 6 months, 22 days, 18 hours, 7 minutes and 23 seconds from now.
Not that I'm counting.
This is not enough. We need to know the ratio of gold stars to frowny faces he got in kindergarten.

Funny how we can get stories about something that involved Romney 50 years ago, but we cannot get any information about Barry’s citizenship—his schooling—his grades—his actual participation in the ‘Haaavaad Review’, his past associates & possible girlfriends, etc. Barry is barely 50 years old.
I wonder now if all this flap about Barry’s support for Gay Marriage is a prelim to the world finding out that Barry himself had/has/is in a Gay relationship himself?

Anybody else find it interesting that the Post story on bullying a person who later comes out of the closet comes one day after Obama supports gay marriage. I’m sure there was no coordination here - none at all.

This AM the local daily disappointment published a letter which almost too good to have been penned by one of the locals: “Apparently I am supposed to be more angry at the way Romney spends his money then how Obama spends mine.”
LOL.........right you are. If this is the best the left can do then this country is in worse shape than I thought. I guess I’ll never be able to run for public office......I was a rotten kid. Romney isn’t my choice but this is going too far. Hell’s Bell’s we can’t even find out what our esteemed (sarc) president did 15 years ago and we won’t ever if the press and his comrades have anything to say about it.
Exactly! I said the same thing when I first heard about this latest propaganda. They can find out about Romney 50 years ago, but no HS classmates from Punahou?? My brother-in-law is younger than Barry, but was at Punahou at the same time, AND followed basketball. He never heard of Barry (not that it’s THAT small a school, but supposedly Barry was some hot-shot basketball player).
Any classmates? Anyone who remembers him??
The concept of “bullies” resonates deeply and is pretty common human experience. People who’ve had a run in with bullies have a visceral reaction when they encounter another one.
I bet zero’s campaign is behind this - and is just the tip of the iceberg.
Now that RINOmney apologized - confirming he was guilty - I believe the bullying meme will be used to tie into him also being one of the 1 percenters - who got their $ by defrauding , cheating or abusing others (another common meme about rich people... Especially business men)
Only gays can be victims of bullying, just like only blacks can be victims of racism.
I think stuff like this actually gives Romney street cred.

These stories actually make Romney look great by comparison as the Obama campaign shoots self in the foot again.
It just so happens that during this exact time the president was doing cocaine and smoking weed, or so HE SAYS in his memoirs.
And this Romney story has been running all day long on radio news. Just heard it again on the ABC radio news at the top of the hour.
Haven’t heard a single thing about Obama’s HS pot smoking and goofing around, today or anytime since he became a candidate.
And for others the reaction will be — “hey, he got into a brawl. He’s normal.”
Yep. But to tell the truth, I expected they would have better ammunition than this.
Comeon! I was not much of a bully because I was more likely to BE bullied when I was a kid, but even if I remembered who did it, I wouldn’t hold it against them at this stage of my life.
I imagine Bubba Clinton would have had some funny things to say about geeks when he was in high school, as would most anyone else. This is just silly.
This is just the start of the death of a thousand cuts they have planned for Romney... He is not who he says he is that will say, can’t be trusted. Example after example will be offered keeping him on the defencive. He will get full measure and then some of what he dished out on the conservatives, tea party , Palin and others. Yes he was behind some of the attacks on Palin through his surrogates.
I would not underestimate the quiet impact of even this seemingly small one. There are many many voters out there who remember the rich kid bullies and socialites in school that looked down on them, teased them and made themselves bigger by being obnoxious, rude and snobby because that were untouchable and rich. The kids that took the city bus or lesser transportation not their own cars will remember. Might not be fair but it is what it is.

Based on his behavior during the primaries, Romney probably was a bully. But in the time period talked about, homosexuality was not accepted. Nor was it admitted. Bullying wasn't an issue either. It was something that kids dealt with in their worlds. It wasn't like living in an episode of Glee.
So I am forced to call b.s. on this story, even if I don't like Mitt at all.
Any other candidate or president that waxed poetic about former drug use, even in high school, would have been smashed into the windshield like the proverbially bug.
