I do not believe unity will be gained towards what to do about Mitt Romney. If there can be a detente with mutual respect between the never Romney camps (JR is in it) and the possibly Romney camps (like me) without feeling the need to harangue and troll, maybe progress can be made. If Mitt Romney manages to (figuratively) strangle Barack Obama with a pair of his magic long johns, well I won’t weep for Barack. But then I probably will begin to groan over Mitt’s wild hairs which could make a fur coat.
I agree with you entirely. I will never forgive or forget what Romney and Paul have done on the eve of the most important election in US history, but that’s small potatoes compared to what Jew hater Obama has in store for all of us.
Will I forget Romney’s pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, pro-statist past ? No. I’ll be watching him like a hawk if he wins. I still don’t trust him, and odds are, I never will. At the same time, I’m not willing to risk four more years of Obama and his Reign of Incompetent Terror.
This is a nightmare scenario to be sure. I hate to be put in this situation, but I have no idea what to do from here on out. I’m at a complete and total loss. This is the ultimate lose-lose proposition.
HiTech, I'm in JRob's camp, and I absolutely agree 100% with your post. Jim, your post to anchor this thread was exactly right. I'm really grateful that you wrote it; I needed it.
I understand and respect those who think they have to vote for Romney. This is all an enormous gamble, a gigantic risk no matter how you toss the dice; it's said you have to go to war with the army you have, not the one you wish you had. Since I consider a number of the troops in that army to be in league with the enemy, makes me perceive it more as playing the hand you're dealt. My vote is my play.
It's always been true that when people sacrifice better judgment to desperation and fear, it almost universally leads to disaster. The reason about 60% of Republicans had Romney as their last choice is because their common sense told them he's bad news. Now many are being bullied by a justifiable fear of Obama the Omnipotent, into abandoning their common sense. Fear is dictating how they're going to play the one card in the hand they hold.
I hope a LOT of people step back and consider that in the next seven months. My gosh ... that's all between now and November.
God bless you, Jim Robinson, and thanks for Free Republic.
