Paul has already stated he does not want the Presidency, rather he wants to be heard and why he’s been running.
My opinion of Paul increased greatly during the debates. He's still my next-to-last choice though.
BTW, I have very close, true-conservative friends who have come to really like Romney. I sincerely hope they are right and I am wrong.
And I hereby resolve to no longer make fun of Romney.
Read your whole post. You sound like me.
I suggested here, about a week ago, that with Romney as the nominee, our “best case” scenario would be a democrat president being fought, tooth and nail, by a conservative leaning congress controlled by the R’s.
Not that I would ever vote for Obama, but I will also not vote for Romney. If Romney is the nominee, barring something downright apocalyptic being done by Obama, I’ll write someone in.
There is no such thing as the lesser of two evils. Both are evil.
I supported Bachmann, Cain, Newt and Santorum. I’m done. If Mitt gets the Nomination (not 100% certain yet), then I will vote against him AND Obama and vote FOR Virgil Goode who is a Conservative.
Where did Paul say he doesn't want the presidency? I know he wants to better control the convention. One doesn't negate the other.
Bump for later
I agree, look the liberals spent 50 years getting to this point, lots of local elections, state houses, AGs and Sec of States. We have to take the same approach.
As for me I concur with the truce, however, I will short my Primary Ballot in NC next week. I will vote local only and Amendement 1 (NO GAY MARRIAGE). If conservatives in NC simple did not vote for a Presidential Candidate Mitts people should take notice of the low percentage and number of short ballots. Amendment 1 will bring every conservative to the booth next week, lets send a message.
Consider it as not voting for Romney, but against 0bama
The Constitution is fine as it stands I'm not for cahnging the Constitution, nor how it functions for our nation. It's the leaders who need changing.. not our documents.
Further united with who?...conservatives yes...but the word "forward" and "united" in your post could be something different for some more than others and under a different banner then what I would see as that.
I am not giving Romney my vote. Quite frankly he would have to kma while doing cartwheels in order to remotedly have a chance of getting my vote. Even then its doubtful. Etither way he can kma.
You are welcome.
“There is thread after thread anymore trashing solid Conservatives, in the most vile way, just for supporting Romney. The Bachmann thread a couple days ago comes to mind. She was called a whore and it was left to stand. This has to stop or there will be no limit to the level of destruction going on here.”
And to compound the lunacy, there’s not a single candidate about whom I’ve EVER seen a consensus here. They all have some foible, quirk, past position, appearance (weight, hair, etc.), or other disqualifier that the self-righteous chest-thumpers attack them for. Who the hell would ever fit the bill? NOT that Romney comes within light years of anyone’s definition of “conservative” (except his own), but NO ONE ever meets the criteria (there’s not even a consensus on the criteria). It’s a shame one of these perfect people don’t run and give the world an opportunity to vote for the perfect candidate.
And if, Lord forbid, Paul actually got somewhere, he’d be a much better choice than Romney. For one thing, Paul appeals to a much wider electorate. I’m just saying. . .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A wider electorate? Hippies and OWS protestors are that influential? Didn’t know that.
So. You think Paul is the best candidate we have? Please educate us on why you think that? Does his pro-dope and pro-prostitution values appeal to your liberal nature?
You seem to be hung up on your misinformed ideas about the 10th amendment. Does that mean - like RoPaul - you support abortion as a states rights issue?
Are you a truther like Paul?
Do you also hate the military and want queers to openly serve?
9/11 was an inside job, huh?
Let me guess... You’re a bigot too. Like Paul who accepts endorsement from fringe racist groups.
You like government pork? Paul sure does.
Look my liberal FRiend, I could go on and on all day knocking down the irrational reasons why you support Paul.
But may I remind you that this is a conservative forum and for you to come here with you support for liberal trash is zot-worthy?
ITBZ.
The bottom line is 'no votes for baby killers.' You vote for that then you support that.
Ping me if you get a reply to that. I would like to know as well.
B.Hussein Obama fully intends to transform the U.S.A., from its fundamental bases and from there in every way conceivable and likely in some ways none of us might imagine, into a unitary socialist state with our present still somewhat “sovereign” states becoming provinces ruled from a single seat of executive power, headed by a dictator and administered through his personally appointed Czars, responsible solely to him. BHO has already clearly demonstrated this mode of governance, with virtually no expressions of opposition or concern from the Congress.
But for all his faults and deficiencies, I do not believe that Romney intends or would permit such a radical demolishing of America.
Seriously - IBTZ?
Make it a double if it happens. Otherwise grow the EFF up!
Damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead!!
Amen!
Dittos MHGinTN and thank you Jim for allowing us ABO voters to have a voice once again on FR.
Thanks for this, Jim. Ours will be a very long fight, and the upcoming election is but a start.
