Continuing to support a socialist on FR is against the rules. There has also been outside influences at work here. It’s called trolling. The aim is to destroy FR. Why FReepers want to help that goal is beyond me but they are being influenced.
That boat won't float. All the problems come from within this site. People know they have to fall in line or pay a price for it. These are self inflicted wounds.
Most people aren’t being influenced by anything other than there is nothing worse than Barack Obama. They do not feel this is the time to make a stand. Especially when conservatives didn’t have any good primary choices to offer. Sometimes you have to take small increments when you can get them and work for a larger goal.
One thing the left has, that we do not, is that they were patient. They started with Clinton and worked and waited to push the far left Obama.
People have kids and grandkids and they want the most corrupt administration ever conceived kicked to the curb.
That has a lot of sway.

It would help if you knew what a “socialist” really is. There is a actual real world definition, and it does not mean someone who disagrees with you. When people within the GOP are labeled Socialists you lose all credibility. The term just becomes an insult without meaning. There is a healthy divergent opinion within the GOP that stretches from right to slight left of center( US context), but socialist is not one of them. So when you throw that term around loosely, you indicate a certain lack of knowledge on history and politics. If you argue that Romney is a more liberal leaning Republican, conservative Democrat like, that is fair and measured. But to yell Socialist just makes fair people roll their eyes, and think they are having a political discussion with a nutter.

I had to laugh to myself the other day when I saw a poster say they were 27 and tired of it. Too many people seem to have no clue or are not in touch with what CAN happen and what WILL happen should Obama be re-elected to another term.
There was a time when people on this site relished the chance to embarrass and destroy socialist arguments and "outside influences" through rational argument. It seems anymore people around here are afraid to even read an opinion not totally in lockstep with their own.
