MetroWeekly.com is exposing the whole truth that Washington Post would not reveal:

Mitt Romney’s campaign tonight announced that it has hired Richard Grenell, an out gay former George W. Bush administration official, to serve as the presumptive Republican presidential nominee’s “national security and foreign policy spokesman,” according to a report from The Washington Post that did not mention Grenell’s sexual orientation.

Grenell served through September 2008 in the Bush administration as a spokesman to the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations — and told The Advocate‘s Kerry Eleveld as he left the administration that it was his hope that New York would have marriage equality soon and that he would one day be able to marry his partner, Matt Lashey. The couple has been together 10 years. . . .

Andrew Sullivan, who had endorsed Obama’s 2008 run, wrote of the news, “For Romney to have an openly gay spokesman is a real outreach to gay Republicans, a subtle signal to moderates, and the Santorum faction’s reaction will be worth noting.”

Grenell is not just gay, but a gay activist who pushes for same-sex marriages.

At the end of Grenell’s service in the Bush administration, he took a notable whack at the administration, telling The Advocate‘s Kerry Eleveld of his effort to have his partner, Matt Lashey, listed in the United Nations’ Blue Book, which is “a reference guide of contact information for different member states of the United Nations as well as diplomatic personnel and their spouses.”

Grenell had attempted to have Lashey’s name added several times, to no avail. He told The Advocate back in 2008, “What put me over the edge was a friend and colleague who met her spouse after I was already with my partner — they got married and subsequently were put into the Blue Book in a matter of days.”

The State Department eventually told him that the Defense of Marriage Act prevented the listing. Although he protested the decision behind the scenes, Lashey’s name was not ever added, which led to his coming forward to criticize the treatement publicly as he left his post.

HuffPost has noted that since the choice, Grenell has scrubbed his Twitter account and website of offensive material...

Romney is the architect of American socialized medicine and the architect of same-sex "marriage" in America.

Face the facts, Romney delivered on the left's agenda in a way that no Democrat has EVER been able to. Myth Romney is the most successful leftist politician in American history, that means he WILL trample the Constitution.

Exactly right.

I checked his posing history and he preferred Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich. I have not had the time to read this thread.

Let’s fight on for a brokered all out bloody floor fight to stop Romney at the convention.

NO ROMNEY! NO WAY!

Keep praying! Something’s gotta give!

So as judge and jury what would you do because Romney hired this guy? You have already had the trial, this one article as your evidence, and you have already choosen a verdict. So what is the punishment? You are all upset with me and I have only said lets stop and give a fair hearing...so since you know all the facts whats your solution?

Oh, just let Obama win....yep, that was worth the fight.

The GOP has always been about hiring and promoting based on merit. Why exclude the best qualified for the job because they are gay? Makes no sense.

Unfortunately, it seems there are a lot of people who if they had their druthers would eliminate all gays. Obama is taking the country down like the Titanic, and they want to snipe about the frikkin deck chairs.

You are late to the party...you want to converse? start at 10 and come up to speed rather than pile on with the mob mentality.

If you're the odd ball, maybe FReepers are trying to teach you something. Maybe you're not listening. Maybe you haven't noticed the homo agenda and the damage it's done.

It may not have affected you personally, but think about your fellow Americans. They have stores, apartments to rent, kids to raise, and they have to work with homo activists. Put yourself in Americas shoes. There are multimillions of straight people who want no part of this creepy stuff. They're being forced to not only gleefully accept the flaunting of this vile, disgusting lifestyle, they're forced to rent their private property, hire, offer up their children for indoctrination, and treat the homos delicately - better than average humans - due to their "special rights."

What about the individual rights of everyone else? Should the 2% homo trump the 98% heterosexual? Seriously? You're ok with this? What if I don't want homos to have their butt sex in my apartment building? What if I don't want to hire a man in a dress? What if I want my kids to live a normal life? I can't! The homos agenda has made my rights illegal. Really? You're good with this?
I don't even want to get started on the spread of AIDs into the herterosexual arena, or the overuse of antibiotics by homos that may end killing millions of regular people around the globe. Geeze. Don't get me started there!

Anybody who thinks gay pride day at Fort Bragg will not be a reality is kidding themselves.

Well, as long as Republican "conservatives" keep giving aid and comfort to politicians and policies they say they hate, you may be right.

"If, to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disprove, how can we afterwards defend our work?" -- George Washington

Of course, the next part of that Washington quote points to the only way out:

"Let us raise a standard to which the wise and the honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God."

But I still dont agree with lynching of people in the form of discriminatory hiring based on that alone for for public jobs. The govt represents all of us and its not the place to be singling out anyone for favor or for discrimination based on their private lives, color, religion, or lack of religion. Private companies/institutions should be able to hire whomever they want. But govt cant discriminate.

Hey troll, campaign spokesman IS NOT a government job.

The mob here is putting words in my mouth that are absolutely false.

YOU are the one using terms like "lynch" and "mob," these are basic leftist tactics. I'm surprised you haven't called us "fascists" yet.

You can take that back to your hate sites.

"Hate site" is that what the anti-FReepers are calling Free Republic now?

The “best” candidate had to scrub his twitter account of “offensive” material?

That the “best” we’ve got?

And certainly...someone who has had to delete offensive material in the past certainly won’t need to do so in the future...right?

Oh I don’t believe for a second this guy was considered because he was the best.

This was a pc/political etch-a-sketch move to the core.

Can’t wait to see freepdom throw palin under the bus when she comes out and endorses the GOP nominee at the convention

Still trolling I see and trying to start trouble.

Shocker for you. Everyone is already aware that Sarah Palin said ABO and that she will endorse Romney provided he's the nominee and then she will go about working her butt off as she always has for TEA PARTY CANDIDATES across our nation for elective offices in state houses and in the US House and Senate.

but its up to God to judge

Actually my friend it IS up to us to judge. How else would we know right from wrong? And how else would we know who needs to hear Christ? What isn't our job is condemnation.

We also are not to associate with those who will not give up their sin.

Tell me how job discrimination based on a persons private life is “conservative”?

Because the right to "discriminate" is a constitutional and God-given right.

I would not hire someone who drank too much on weekends or was a serial adulterer or who spent their weekends whoring in Sparks Nevada, much less someone who advocated for that lifestyle.

Does your brand of conservatism allow for those people to sue me for "job discrimination" because I don't approve of their lifestyle?

No. We're not talking about "deck chairs." We're discussing the ship's hull, the natural family, the fundamental building block and superstructure of our entire civilization.

And while the ship is being sunk by unprincipled blind men, you're saying "no big deal, let's just concentrate on the party we're going to have in New York."
