For much the same reason we have a CIA, a Delta Force unit, and drone flight capability. Everyone knows we have these functions, but we generally don't go out of our way to talk about them and demonstrate their capabilities. Additionally, I generally find that those who possess superior strength, intellect, power, wealth, etc. generally have no need to talk or brag about those characteristics. They seem quite content and self-confident enough to keep quiet about these matters. Moreover, from a pure strategic sense the old addage of walk softly and carry a big stick would seem far more functionally appropriate.
