(Reuters) - Musician and gun-rights advocate Ted Nugent said on Thursday he had a positive meeting with U.S. Secret Service agents investigating his recent criticism of President Barack Obama, and the agency confirmed the issue had been resolved.
Nugent, who told NRA supporters in St. Louis last week that he would be "dead or in jail" next year if Obama was reelected, said in a statement that he had "met with two fine, professional Secret Service agents" in Oklahoma.
"Good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone. The meeting could not have gone better," the 63-year-old singer and guitarist said. He was due to perform a concert in Ardmore, Oklahoma on Thursday.

I met Mr. Nugent once. I can tell you he is a decent man who doesn’t do drugs or drink.
Or hire hookers?
He does seem very decent, and why not, He’s a conservative after all
The only people that thought the meeting would go any other way.......are liberals. That free speech thing is still alive in America.....rock on Uncle Ted.
I love the guy even though I’m pizzed he endorsed Romney. Thought he was more of an individual. Guess it’s all an act.
Well, what did I expect? He’s an entertainer.
Nugent had his wild days. Lots of women.
Next up for the Secret Service: a positive meeting with Farrakhan...NOT!!
The Secret Service really had no reason to go interview Ted Nugent but they did want to get his autograph. Next stop...Sammy Hagar.
The SS did not hire hookers, they tried bullying severe discounts from hookers.
Sounds as if Ted has a stranglehold on the situation.
I can only imagine how that meeting went after the weekend the SS had.
he must have shared some home made jerky with the Secret Service people.
I am glad it went well for the Nuge. I’m sure Holder has “solid meetings” with the New Black Panthers, too, so I don’t put much faith in the current gubmint.
He doesn’t want Obama to be president again. What loser do you suggest he endorse...because that’s all any other candidate would be.
You honestly think Romney can beat Obama? I don’t. Too many similarities.
Next time you see him, inform him Mitt’s a gun grabber!
Mitt Romney loves this country. 0bama hates it and wants to destroy it

They probably forgot that prostitution is legal in that part of Columbia so instead of cowering in fear like a prostitute in the USA the hooker simply called the police. That must have been a big surprise to the SS guys.
But the SS guys also forgot rule number one of any security team - no partying on the job. Even the bouncer at a strip club knows that much. There must be plenty of present and former SS guys who are furious about this whole affair. The ones I have met would never do or condone such a thing.
Anyway, Ted, you're on surveillance.
It's a good bet their on your side, but you're on surveillance.
Could they have picked a more unflattering photo?
I am surprised he is supporting Romney.
I have never heard of him hiring hookers. Despite what he does for a living, he is devoted to his family.
But in the meanwhile the dumbkopfs who run entertainment at Ft Knox cancelled his performance there. How to punish the troops on the altar of political correctness run amok.
Well, we know he despises BHO and what he’s doing to the country, so I think Ted’s mistakenly convinced that Mittens has the best chance of defeating him. A lot of people have that wrong (imo) idea. I also think a lot of folks are listening to MR’s rhetoric that panders to conservatives instead of delving into his history and record.
It’s unfortunate, because Ted’s a patriot.
It's either M.R. or B.O.
The show will feature REO Speedwagon (Roll With The Changes and othe hits), Styz (Chi area hit band of the 80's) and Uncle Ted. Our youngest daughter is going and I want to go so bad I can taste it. But mobility issues makes it impossible for me. Thing is my wife wants to see REO too. 'Roll With The Changes' was a HUGH hit in the Chi area. And the Guitar Solo still gives me the chills. (best pure Rock song maybe ever IMO)
I also told our daughter to 'maybe expect' some comments from The Nuge that'll sound like I was talking ;-)
I also said it'll be a Gibson Les Paul orgy on stage. She didn't have a clue about that comment. ;-)
(I'm a Fender guy)
Gonzo....... paging FReeper Gonzo
Nugent reported rather than providing a live stream of the encounter.
I have no faith in Obamas selected Secret Service followers.
To me they are enforcers of an usurper.
Clean up your act Washington DC, America has no more trust in you, you don’t scare us, you only steel our resolve.
So did Reagan. I still admire them both.
That’s how it’s looking, though I ‘m still supporting Newt. But however it turns out, ABO. That’s what the Nuge is thinking, I imagine.
They probably told him they don’t respect the “one” either.
Ted called Debbie Wasserman Schultz a “brain dead Mao fan”. Haha. He believes she is the one who wanted him investigated.
Did he play a little Wango tango or maybe Free For All?

I closed out my FB account a year ago, not going to sign up again just for this.
I don’t see how it can possibly be a crime to speak threatening against the president. Has the 1st amendment been suspended, has congress passed a law abridging our freedom of speech?
People seem to want to go crazy and walk all over everyones rights in the name of “protecting the president”. But who is the president? who is Every president but a man sworn to uphold our constitution and in doing so help preserve our rights?
Seriously at some point every man who chooses to run for the office of president has to assume the risks inherit in that act as with every other act.
If the president is unwilling to assume that personal responsibly in the interest of respecting and preserving our liberty I see not how he can possibly be expected to lead a free people in preserving & defending that freedom.
So when those @ssholes aren't scamming prostitutes out of 47 dollars, they are investigating Americans for being concerned about our National Security?
Do I have that right?
Sounds like it. If it were up to me the Secrete service would be nothing more than body guards.
Being pro-active security crosses the line where our Constitutional rights are concerned.
How is it that we can expect to live in a free country when the men who choose to lead that country are unwilling to take responsibly for the inherit risks of the position they choose to run for, and instead insist that we give up OUR rights so that his security can be obsessively protective.
This is not the pope we are protecting, this is the President of theses united States charged with upholding the Constitution for the protection of All Americans not disregarding it for just himself.
This is what tyrants like Hugo Chavez does, its NOT acceptable for American presidents. Honest Presidents of free Constitutional republics assume the risks inherit in their job rather than force their citizens to give up Constitutionally reserved rights. Honest Presidents DO their jobs of upholding the Constitution for the people!
Thank goodness those threads have been scrubbed from FR ........................... FRegards
Yep, we know all about the Secret Service and FBI.
