Pity.....while I have not been personally touched by the issue of breast cancer, nor any of my family or close friends, it is a worthwhile cause. But prior to the Planned Parenthood debacle, I had become jaded with the “cause du jour” tone of the charity. I’ve been throwing my support more towards the red dress movement, and raising awareness of cardiac care for women.

Pity?
The money isn’t going to research, its going to Planned Parenthood, a billion-dollar corporation. Is that what “charity” is for?

"Pity.....it is a worthwhile cause." Is it? Serious question. What does the money they raise really go to?

I'm sure there are plenty of other breast cancer orgs out there who would enjoy your support. Sometimes the smaller groups do more with the money because they're not weighted down with infrastructure and admin, like big orgs such as Komen, ACS, etc.
Here's a listing of cancer research centers across the country. One near you might have info on other non-profits.
