Sorry, fellas, these seats are taken. In hopes of improving services for women, Czech Railways recently introduced Ladies Compartments, which will give priority seating to women and provide improved comfort.
According to the New York Times, the new compartments installed on about 30 trains were instantly met with some disapproval. Opponents argued the cabins discriminate against men, but rail spokesman Petr Stahlavsky told the Times the changes are based on Western European and Christian traditions. He added, This is not any discrimination but social and cultural tradition.
As it turns out, these types of cabins are not so uncommon. The company said it was modeling its new compartments after the Austrian system, but women-only cabins have already taken off in at least a half-dozen countries including Japan, Egypt, Iran, Brazil and India.
Though men arent banned from sitting in the new the six-seater Ladies Compartments on Pragues trains, women will have priority seating and can ask men to leave if they dont want to share the space with a Y chromosome. If successful, Czech Railways hopes to continue with plans to roll out 80 more similar compartments by the summer.

And can ask men to leave if they dont want to share the space with a Y chromosome. -- ....
Can a woman REALLY complain based on the Y chromosome? If this is really true, hat-tip to them! But, as I suspect, if not now then soon, it will devolve to something else...
in Japan, India, Iran, Egypt I can understand, but I don’t think Czech women are harassed in Czechia...
Islam marches forward.
Sounds like a little gender discrimination to me.
I think women in those nations welcome segregated from men, not sure if Western women would.
I’d wager western women would largely be happy if men were forced to the back of the train.
you are correct.
Can I ask a woman to come in, if I DON'T want to share with a Y chromosome?
In Japan, many of the busiest commuter railway and subway lines have special trains designated for female passengers only during commute hours (usually 0600 to 0900 and 1500 to 1800 hours during weekdays). The reason is simple: there’s been a number of problems with male passengers harassing female passengers, especially when the trains get really crowded during commute hours.

May we assume females are picking up the tab for these cars? (crickets)
Divide & conquer proceeds apace; I’m glad Europe is falling just as these laws pass. The “new Europeans” won’t be allowing women on trains without male relatives, and if this is what “the West” has come up with I’m with the “new Europeans”.
I think these two were actually Slovaks because they went to the Technical Institute in Bratislava, which is now the capital of Slovokia.
Besides, they only had time for American foxes.
That is true, if by “harassing” you mean “engaging in extremely intrusive groping.”
It seems it is a well-known aspect of ultra-crowded Tokyo trains.
Happened to me at rush hour on the subway...in this country.

Well that stinks. NYC?
I personally find Czech women nowhere near as beautiful as polish (of course I’m biased — I’m married to a Pole!) — they’re too Germanic and most German women are ... well... there’s an old Polish joke — if you walk west, the moment the cows look prettier than the women, you’re in Germany :-P
Ah yes, but back then it was still one country, Czechoslovakia!
