" Words fail. "

No, words don't fail, use your brain for a change and actually understand what Rick is actually saying inspead of taking it totally out of context and shape and mold it into what the Newt supporters want people to think and believe.

My Oh MY are the Newt supporters trying to make hey or make something out of nothing by taking Rick's comments out of context to mold and shape it into what they want you to think.

Here is Rick's actual comment : " "You win by giving people a choice. You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told supporters in San Antonio. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future." ...

Rick is actually saying there is not much difference between Mitt Romney and Obama when you look at their records.
Rick goes on to say that if that's what you want in a candidate, then why vote for Mitt Romney when there is someone else in office as just about the same ?
Rick is saying, vote for someone who is NOT like Obama and Mitt Romney, Rick IS NOT saying to vote for Obama, he is saying look for someone who is not like Obama and Mitt Romney, the only consistent conservative in this race now.
Newt had his chance and failed, now he is out of money and losing support..... Rick now is the only conservative candidate in this race now and that is what Rick is pointing out now.

This isn't about what Freepers think or them taking it out of context.

If Rick is the Nominee, it will be taken out of context by the Obama Campaign over and over again. The Electorate will eat it up and will see it as Santorum praising Obama.

We who really pay attention to the details are but a small part of the Electorate. Out of context or not, Rick blew it again. If he is the Nominee, Obama will skate right back into the White House.

“If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures.” - Alexander Hamilton

NO Romney. Ever.

"You win by giving people a choice..."

Really. More political baby talk. Ever hear this one, Junior?-- "A Choice not an Echo."

Know where that came from? Look it up and see how well that worked out.

You win by tapping into the legitimate concerns of the majority and giving voice to those concerns. You don't win by lecturing and sermonizing, you don't win by making demogogic statements about your party's future candidate.

"If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch A Sketch candidate of the future."

It's quite possibly the most egregious Reagan Rule violation by a primary challenger ever, is what it is. And coming from the same guy who made this appeal just 4 years ago:

"In a few short days, Republicans from across this country will decide more than their party's nominee. They will decide the very future of our party and the conservative coalition that Ronald Reagan built. Conservatives can no longer afford to stand on the sidelines in this election, and Governor Romney is the candidate who will stand up for the conservative principles that we hold dear," said Senator Santorum. "Governor Romney has a deep understanding of the important issues confronting our country today, and he is the clear conservative candidate that can go into the general election with a united Republican party."

So let's see...Mittens hasn't held office in 4 years, nor done much other than operate Bain Capital, so somehow in that time, Obama has improved enough in Santorum's standing that we might as well "stay with what we have" over the "clear conservative candidate".
