but Newt is hanging in there like a bad odor, refusing to step aside to give the closest thing we have to a conservative--Santorum--half a chance.

Then why doesn't Santorum beat Romney is the states where Newt has backed off and not campaigned...like last night?

I feel Newt would step down if he thought doing so would stop Romney. It's been pretty clear that Rick can't beat the Mitt Money on his own because he's not doing it.

I’m afraid we’re going to be stuck with Romney—that’s all I’ve been trying to say. I made the Newt people mad—oh well. None of these guys are a very good choice, in my opinion, although I did vote for Santorum in our primary.

Newt also knows the disaster that a Santorum win would cause. Newt know exactly who and what Santorum is. This every bit as much about keeping Santorum out as well.

The Santorum fanatics hate Newt for it. But in the end, they are too ignorant to understand that Newt is doing all of us a great service.

If Santorum had done the right thing before Florida and dropped out, I will guarantee that the direction of this Primary would have been a complete opposite of what it is now. We would have Newt nominated by now.

In all reality, Santorum IS the spoiler. He is a totally inept politician who refuses to understand the gravity of this critical election. He is all for himself, and due to a disastrous stroke of fate, we will all suffer the loss.
