Unfortunately, the author repeats a commonly quoted falsehood that does as much harm as good, IMHO: “The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms.” It does no such thing!

Here’s a simple reminder to all the intellectually lazy out there: your God-given rights predate the Constitution! You don’t get them from the Constitution, or the federal geoverment, or any other [earthly] authority. You were BORN FREE with natural rights, and the founders of this [once] great country believed that the [only] legitimate purpose of a government was to preserve those rights. Go back and read the Declaration of Independence and PAY ATTENTION to the actual words this time!

(I apologize for the rant, but the first step in winning back our freedoms is to re-establish the correct meaning of the words used in the argument. Those who succumb to using the collectivists’ language will *never* win over any hearts or minds, and do a disservice to the rest of us who do not wish to be forced over the cliff and into the abyss with all the lemmings).

“Now we have people who cower outside of buildings and kind of smoke in private and don’t want to admit it.”

Um...we don’t cower, holder. Watch. Ping.

CAn we say double standards?

"Rules for thee and not for me!" has been the liberal's motto for ages.

The Second Amendment protects the First Amendment.

It was "Murdergate" from the start.

Over 300 innocents have been killed, and ABCNNBCBS are part of the coverup.

It’s using terror exagerated tactics against a mere nuisance.

There is no difference (but maybe cousin ones ) between radical islam’s stoning to death in hypocrisy of women and the way smoking is treated in AMerica.

These are police perverted tactics.

Who has never feared cast the first stone on a smoker looking for a break. Who has never plaid the lottery cast the stone on a man carrying a gun guarding a safe meant for gambling money.

Liberals are the ever shrinking human hypocrite who explodes here and there in freak behaviors.

It’s about control. I remember the antismoking PSA offensive hit fever pitch in the 1970’s when they screamed “thirty percent of smokers will die of lung cancer!!” No math major but I deduced that this meant that seventy percent of smokers would not die of lung cancer.

If they said that they were lying. Only 7% of smokers contract lung cancer. That is double the rate of non-smokers which is 3.5%. I got that from an American Cancer Society publication in the '80s. Good luck finding any statistic on that now. I spent hours searching for it and it's not publically available anymore.

But the numbers you heard in that anti-smoking campaign are a lot like the "90% of guns in Mexico are from the U.S." statistic. Pure BS propaganda created out of whole cloth. The government and MSM are lawless and lie at will.

The anti-smoking crusade was never really about health. It was always about control and forced behavior modification, and gave the tyrants any number of legal precedents they can now employ against any endeavor or activity they so choose.

Pure tobacco also has quite a few benefits, which have been drowned out by hysteria and also cancelled by the carcinogenic chemicals put into cigarettes. So they had to get rid of those, which were mainly calming. Then smokers could be shifted over to antidepressants.

I truly believe they looked around when they first wanted to push antidepressants to find what their competition was, and tobacco was it.

These days, libtards are so whacked about tobacco it literally makes them froth. I was walking around a public garden smoking a cigar - the smoke of which didn't come anywhere near anyone there - when one of the gardners, a woman, came up to me and told me that I should smoke there "because it's an organic garden."

Her logic stopped me cold. I just stared at her rightious idiocy, took a puff, and realized there was absolutely no possible way to reach the universe her mind inhabited.

So I just said "thank you for your opinion" and walked away.

I truly don't know how liberals get through life - their stupidity and arrogance and aggression has reached such an extreme, they've become aliens to life itself (and I mean that sincerely - more than one has remarked to me that they genuinely believe that the only way to "heal the earth" is to "get rid of ALL of humanity").

The cowardice and hypocrisy of these people is breathtaking.

Should have been: ...and told me that I should NOT smoke there "because it's an organic garden."

To which post were you referring? The Examiner article takes people to task for stating the “the Second Amendment “gives” citizens the right to bear arms.” The author even references Heller in the article, while destroying that premise:

“That a fundamental right is treated as a stigmatized vice should be no surprise—after all, the White House makes no secret of how they wish for us to perceive it, and how they will lie to us to ensure that perception:

The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms.

“Lie” is not too strong a word. They know that’s not a true statement. From District of Columbia v. Heller:

The very text of the Second Amendment implicitly recognizes the pre-existence of the right and declares only that it “shall not be infringed.” As we said in United States v. Cruikshank, 92 U. S. 542, 553 (1876) , “[t]his is not a right granted by the Constitution. Neither is it in any manner dependent upon that instrument for its existence. The Second amendment declares that it shall not be infringed … .”

So we have proven liars who admit their intent is to “brainwash” the citizenry into rejecting their rights, and who intentionally deceive on the nature of those rights and their ability to usurp them: after all, if permission is required, that which can be granted can be withheld.”
