If the margins hold up for Santorum in MS and AL, it will be the evangelicals who provide the margin.

FoxNews forced to call Alabama for a guy who won’t buy too much ads from them, Santorum. Would love to see how much GOP E money was spent by Mittens.

Samoas can't carry the South. It's Do-Si-Dos or nothing! And forget those trefoils, only liberals like French sounding trefoils...

CONGRATULATIONS TO RICK SANTORUM FOR APPARANTLY WINNING ALABAMA TONIGHT.

This is an open forum thread, with supporters here from various candidates.

Now, having said that, my wish is for RICK to kick it in big time and seize MISSISSIPPI tonight, too. I actually do hope for Gingrich to place second in both of these states as I truly, personally want Mitt Romney and the Establishment HUMILIATED with all the bucks they spent. Mitts backers are often Wall Street type/K Street type "investors". If their ROE is pissing back at them in the face, they may be more hesitant to open their wallets in the future, which will be good for Santorum (and Gingrich if he decides to stay in and fight).

Very close, might not make it in Miss. for Rick, but if so, WOW!! I hope to hear a great victory speech tonight, and my wishes out to the folks who's candidate did not snag first tonight. Eagles Wonderfully Up!

Not a lot of Santorum fans here...and I had to “get over”’some concerns myself...but I just have to add that Obamney CATEGORICALLY said NO to Santorum as Veep. Personally, anyone who is so despised by Myth has just been validated in my mind.

And if i have NO reservations about voting for Newt...l take the last TRUE conservative standing that can beat Obamney and deny the GOPe a “please Jeb, pretty please” convention.

The I WON’T VOTE FOR SANTORUM CROWD is going to ASSURE an Obama victory. Ask yourselves how he has gotten this far on basically o money?

Except for the fact that the polls are closed in Alabama. Don’t let facts get in your way...

CNN projects that Santorum wins Alabama! Looks like Romney is trailing in third by 7 points right now!

Mississippi still too close to call.

Have you noticed that several times now states had Romney behind until the last few precincts came in...and then bam...he jumps ahead?

I’ve been wondering what the Newt supporter official line would be now that Santorum leads him in hard delegates, soft delegates, vote count, number of states won, total placement, and in head-to-head comparisons.

Actually it was posted on another thread earlier today that it was Romney’s son, Matt, and that he thought Obama was great. Reportedly.

Go figure.

Calling it early is a media tactic to discourage other voters from going to polls to vote for Newt.

What? The polls closed 2 hours 18 minutes ago. CNN just called Alabama for President Rick Santorum!!!! I am so happy.

FOXNews calls AL for Santorum.

Same with CNN - Romney looks like he isn't even going to hit 30%
